Bridal dress stores

Where are some good bridal dress stores? Actually, I'm looking for bridesmaid's dresses but you get the point.  I've heard of Minerva's and Longs but haven't been there.   Are they good? Do they have a large selection of bridesmaid dresses?  I've been to Demetrios, Alfred Angelo, David's Bridal and Solutions.  I've heard of Priscilla of Boston but I'm pretty sure they are above my price range.  Any others I should be aware of?

If you're just looking for bridesmaid dresses, I'm a big fan of department stores. My girls got the JS Boutique Strapless Ruched Satin Gown from Nordstrom - $98.  And free shipping if your order is over $200.http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/2976863?Category=&Search=True&SearchType=keywordsearch&keyword=js+boutique+ruched+in+All+Categories&origin=searchresults

If you want a bridal shoppe to get actual bridesmaid dresses, try Something Blue Bridal. Nice girls, had a good experience shopping there with my cousins. (MOH's) They'll actually be getting their dresses from White House/Black Market, though. They found a cute black cocktail dress that they both liked a lot better than the "bridesmaid" dresses. That doesn't really work if you want colour, but sometimes stoes of that nature or dept. stores like a pp suggested can yield even better results. GL

minerva's doesn't really have a great selection of BM dresses. i bought my wedding dress from there - i think they are more suited to prom and wedding gowns. like PPs have suggested, i also like the department store alternative. we ended up getting my girls dresses from macy's in march when they were having their crazy end-of season sale. we had to call around to a few different stores in the state to find every size but we had an emergency the week of the wedding and it had to be done. my sister also ordered the BM dresses for her wedding from nordstrom. we ended up in adrianna papell chiffon gowns and they were beautiful. i'm a big fan of chiffon b/c it resists wrinkling way more than satin or taffeta.

I"m a big fan of the girls getting dresses from White House Black Market or Nordstroms or another department store -- but you might also want to check out Lily's Bridal and Modern Bridal on 50. They have a lot of different designers plus you can negotiate a better price if you buy all of the dresses at the store. I remember we got 20% off of our Jim Hjelm Occasions dresses for my best friend's wedding a few years ago. We bought them from Modern Bridal. I know some people have had bad experiences with places like House of Brides (an online retailer) but we bought another set of BM dresses on there and saved a TON. Our dresses were black and came out perfectly. I'd probably do some research before ordering with them again --- and also order all of the dresses on one order so they are sure to be cut from the same lot of fabric. HTH! :)
