Are your animals sensitive?

Our cats all have different personalities... but i think our newest the jungle cat is the most sensitive... since I wasnt home at all last week... she has avoided us particularly me...she usually sleeps on the bed all day with while or anywhere I am she is... but she FINALLY just came up on the bed for a few mins to get petted... I thought Enzo was sensitive when we left him all day (he peed on our couch the day we got engaged because he was mad we were gone all day) but she is worse.. it was like the silent treatment from her!

hahahah.  My dog is SO sensitive!  I swear, if you look at him the wrong way, he'll run under the bed and hide!  The other day I dropped something across the room from him and it made a loud noise and he wimpered and limped away.  Yes, limped out of the room even though nothing touched him!  We love him to pieces though and he sleeps with us every night.  I can't blame him as I probably overly coddled him as a puppy and now he's such a wimp!

hahahahaha limped! that is so funny! sounds like something one of my cats would do too.. When our oldest cat-peekachoo- gets in trouble.. she runs and jumps on the couch and like rolls over and meows like im sorry mom ill never do it again.. please dont spank me!! hahaha I need to video her doing it.. its really funny... she backs away like u are hitting her when u are scolding her lol... and hten she forgets 5 mins later... but i think its because she is 10

My cat totally gives me the silent treatment. She'll sit near me and the purposely give me her back, hahaha. My pup though is soooo stubborn if she's on leash am doesn't want to walk she puts on the breaks and won't walk till she's ready. I think she forgets she's only 3 pounds and it doesn't take much effort to move her skinny little butt.

Lola (the Boston) is sensitive in the sense that she hates being scolded and hates to hear yelling.  I could be yelling at Mia outside or having a loud conversation and she starts trembling.  It's so strange.

My doggy isn't that sensitive but he is a snuggle bug!

YES!  Both are sensitive but in different ways.  Our girl is a big scaredy cat and HATES being disciplined.  She will run and hide.  Our boy is an attention hog and will whine and whine until you pay attention to him or play with him.  OR he will "give us the silent treatment" and pout.  I can almost see him sticking his lower lip out.

DH and I don't have any pets of our own yet, but we hear lots of stories from our relatives :) My mom had to give one of her cats some hairball medicine a while ago, and she kinda had to force him to take it. She said he ignored her for 4-5 days after that! LOL

I have a cat that is the complete opposite of sensitive lol! We can be gone for a week....push him off our laps....feed him later than usual....NOTHING makes him mad!! Any chance he can to snuggle/be petted/etc he is all for it no matter what! :)

Bubbles (see siggy) is hilarious! We're on a pretty set schedule with feeding/potty and all of that and when I'm 10 minutes off schedule, she whines at me like..."what are doing?! FEED ME NOW!" Shes also afraid of the bunnies =) haha.

Callie is very sensitive. I yelled at her last night for getting out the hole in our fence and sent her to her crate. Five minutes later it was time for bed so I tried to call her out into the bedroom and she just stayed in her crate (door open, mind you) and pouted. All of our animals have such different personalities (Joe's cat is JUST like he is!), it's fun to watch. And they each have different love languages, too, for anybody who's read The Five Love Languages book :)

our cats are ridiculous, especially our male, Ewan. He is the neediest cat I have ever seen. As soon as you walk in the door, he expects to be picked up and loved on. If you don't, he'll start crying really loud, and if you ignore that, he'll get pissed off and attack Keira (our girl kitty). He needs CONSTANT attention. He can be finally laying on his purr pads and if you make eye contact with him, that means you must want him on your lap. He's also obsessed with me going to the bathroom. He can be sound asleep but if he hears the bathroom door close he'll come and sit outside of it and cry. He also loves toys and plays nearly constantly (and wants you to throw his toys for him) I know that he's like this because when I adopted him I was living alone in California, so he got my undivided attention and got used to being loved on constantly. He's been even worse since we left him and Keira at FMIL's last summer for 6 weeks. He has major separation anxiety. He's really skidish around new people, but now he loves FI just as much, and does almost all the same stuff to him. The other weird thing about him is that if you scare him, he drops huge tufts of fur. Its crazy. Its not like he's just shedding, because it comes out in clumps and flies into the air, its the weirdest thing. Keira is definitely daddy's girl. She'll give me attention if I'm using the laptop, or if he's not home, but usually she only wants him. She likes to sit on his chest and knead him with her claws. She gets so content that she'll start to drool lol She also has a little stuffed skunk that we think she believes is her baby. Every single night, she goes and gets it, makes these really throaty meowing sounds, and brings it into the bedroom. In the morning, she brings it back out into the living room. The poor thing is falling apart, I've sewn it back together a few times, but I think we might have to try to get her a new one and see if she'll adopt that one instead lol cats are so unique and quirky!

She has lots of toys though, so her baby varies from night to night. She'll pick it up and walk around the house crying and crying. Also, she'll put it in her water or food bowl for safe keeping. Strangest things but I've read that cats will do that because their bowls are usually a constant in their life (in the type of bowl it is, the location it's in, and what goes in it) so in their minds whatever they leave there is safe. Funny to come home to a drowned stuffed mouse. :)Does anybody else's cat do that? Drown their 'babies'??

Thats so funny that your kitty does that too! I've had plenty of female cats before, but never one that seemed to adopt a baby. Keira never puts it in her bowls, but Ewan drowns everything! In Cali I boarded him once, and I warned the people that he had a habit of drowning his toys and that they should just dry them off and give them back. When I picked him up they said every morning all of his toys would be in the dishes lol I took my e-ring off once while I was cleaning the bathroom and got done and couldnt find it. Where was it? Ewan's water dish. He's a thief too lol

It was actually a rope toy, but she would carry it around everywhere and would try to nurse it and she would get really anxious if anyone took it from her. The vet said she was going through a false pregnancy, and that she would get over it. That toy got SO icky though. It was dirty since she would take it outside with her and because it was rope, it eventually got shredded and would fall into little pieces all over the floor, so we threw away the old nasty one and bought her a new one that was identical, and she hated it. She wouldn't touch it and she was so sad for a long time after we took away her "baby". i felt so bad.

AileeneG- aww your poor puppy, thats what I'm afraid of too! So right now, I've just been trying to sew the seams back together, push the stuffing in and patch it up. The nose is basically shredded from her carrying it around, so I'm not sure how much more salvaging I can do to it. I might have to buy a new one and see how she responds to it. Shes got tons of other toys, but ever since she got this one about 1.5 ago, shes been obsessed. I wondered about the false pregnancy thing, but when she didnt stop doing it after a couple months I wasn't sure if thats still what it might be. I always forget to mention it to the vet, not that its a big deal, but its interesting. I never thought I would be sewing cat toys back together though lol

I've had to do a lot of that, too- stuffing and sewing. It's funny how much trouble we go to for our pets! :)
