WTF?

So... I went up to my complex gym to just walk on the treadmill really slow and get on the bike and this a$$hole brings his like 1-3 month BABY (maybe that old?) into the gym to workout!! Im sorry but i find that completely inappropriate and disrespectful to the people in the gym! The baby could get hurt, catch nasty germs from in there, and then the fact that is cries... Oh and what does he do...just turn his headphones up SO loud I could hear them across the room while mine are turned ALL the way up! I think next time I might go to the office and tell them.. This is the second time this guy has brought his baby into there and its just not appropriate! Well in my opinion is just not right...I mean have your wife watch the baby for 25 minutes when she gets home so you can work out if its *that* important.. Ughhh what would you do?

Definitely don't think bringing a small baby to a gym is appropriate. Actually, I've never heard of anyone doing that before! Interesting....but you're right, the proper solution is to find childcare for the kid while the guy's working out.

Take a picture next time, go home and post it for us to see, and then contact your complex's office.

SarahP... so agree !  I mean resturants are fine but not when they are loud ones or you are there drinking.  I USE to have a friend that would take her BABY (and still takes her) to places like Ale House and would drink and be out till like 1am but Ale house is considered a resturant so it was okay for her to do because she was sitting in a booth.

There used to be a lady at the downtown Y who would bring her baby and it would stay in the stroller while she worked out. It always drove me nuts!

Yeah, he needs to go join a gym that provides childcare. That's ridiculous. Someone could walk off with the baby when he's not paying attention or something.

SPower, I have to disagree with you. There is absolutely no reason a parent or set of parents should not be able to take their infant with them to a restaurant or to the beach. They just need to be prepared and have methods to keep baby occupied and safe. Just because they produce noise, bodily fluids, and messes does not mean that parents and their babies should remain in their houses or in family-only places at all times. Restaurants that are mainly bars? Bad idea. Restaurants that happen to have bars? Whatever. And beaches are fantastic places for babies to explore their world and grow. Why not take them to a beach? Of course I would expect any parent to be considerate of those around them, but it's not a dog or a loud car with bass booming, it's a baby. I would also expect the people around the baby to be considerate and understanding, too. It all just comes down to being prepared, really, and there's hardly ever a problem you can't handle with minimal disturbance. Been there, done that. This dude, however, is completely out of his ever-lovin' mind to bring a baby onto the gym floor! Whether other people find that inconsiderate aside, that's just bad parenting! Who does that? Contagions, safety hazards, omg this is just wrong on every single level. Go to a gym with a kids' room, dang! Eryn, you definitely should say something to the manager if he does it again! Things like this make me believe even more strongly that people should have to get a license to breed. O_o
