Anyone here go to Pre-Cana this past Saturday??

FI and I did or Pre-Cana day yesterday and it was very nice! Very long, but we learned a lot and had a nice time with each other. Has anyone already done their's or going to do their's soon?

We did it.  Did you do the engaged encounter retreat or the Sat all day thing?  We did the weekend long one as it was required.  It was better than we thought it would be.  Kind of pricey though.  How was your experience?

We did ours last month and thought it was great.  You are right, it is definitely long but they covered some really important topics.  Thankfully most of it my FI had already discussed, but it was great to revisit some of it.

Theresa, we did the Sat long one. We had applied to do the weekend long one at San Pedro, I could not get off of work (I work Friday and Saturday). And the next on was in January (the month before our wedding so it would be too close to wedding). So we had to go to the Saturday one. But yes, all the topics were very important, even though FI and I had discussed them already.

We hope to do the marriage encoutner weekend sometime when we are married since we missed it and married couples can go.

    We did ours in March.

Please tell me the lady did not talk about shaking babies this time.

Oh my lady talked about shaking babies.  I wrote on my comment card that that was the only thing they said the whole weekend that I didn't already know about.  So, I appreciated that talk.  It was kind of scary.  Everything else was something we had already discussed together but I still enjoyed the weekend.

Really, we were really creeped out by the whole thing. I guess the lady wearing dark sunglasses and mentioning she just had eye surgery didn't help.

No, it did surprise me and scare me.  I'm not saying I was like all happy about the egg in a jar thing.  it was just something I had never thought of.  She didn't have sunglasses though.  She just described a story of a mom and a baby that cried all through the night no matter what she did and then she just gave it one shake and said stop crying and you would think, "i'd never shake my baby" but the way that she described it as someone being up the entire night and everything, you can see how it happens to good people and I thought that was a little scary.

YES! We got the shaken baby / egg in cup talk. lol But i already know that stuff bc i learned it in school. (I do ultrasounds and one portion of ultrasound is scanning a newborns head bc or hemorrhage from those types of events or other things that may cause that.)
