Barbados or St. Lucia??

We're trying to decide between Barbados or St. Lucia for our honeymoon in August.  Any recommendations?  We want to do an AI..If you went to one of these islands, where do you recommend staying ?  Thanks for your help!

We are going on a cruise to both islands in april... I've been reading on cruise critic to get ideas for what to do, etc, and it seems like everyone LOVES the beaches in Barbados and HATES the beaches in St. Lucia.

If you plan on staying in the resort then there really isn't much in it, however, if you plan on venturing out I would recommend Barbados, the island is much prettier and generally we found the islanders to be a lot more welcoming (that said we knew some of the locals).  When we went to St Lucia we were recommended not to leave the complex, that said we went quite a few years ago, things may have changed a lot.

Brantina--  that's crazy you're looking at the same thing at the same time!   :-)   We're completely split right now because we've heard pro/cons for both!   We can't decide!   Are you going through a travel agent??

My FI and I are going to St. Lucia. I had a close friend who went there on her honeymoon last year and she loved it. We were drawn by the adults only hotels also. And if you stay in one Sandals resort, you are granted access to all of the Sandals resorts on the island. She said they had plenty to do and highly recommended it. Everyone has a different experience though.

Think of it this way, yes you only have one honeymoon, but you and your FH will have your entire lives together and many many more vacations!

Which resort are you staying at ?  I think there are three ?  (we just started researching this so I may be getting my islands mixed up! ) :-)

We are meeting with a travel agent in a couple of weeks just to see what kind of a deal we can get.  We have really just been looking online and are just getting started!
