I was wondering if anyone out there is trying to use or did use Marriott points for their honeymoon. I am platinum on Marriott and my fiance is gold (plus gold on delta) so we have a ton of points to use to basically get a virtually free honeymoon.
The problem is that I want to go to a beach resort, but I am not sure which one. There are pros and cons to their resorts since they are not the typical all inclusive resorts that I am used too. I have been lucky enough to go to the Caribbean several times and stayed at some amazing resorts (iberostar, Occidental, etc) with my family, and it is really hard to top those for my honeymoon... Not a bad problem to have at all, but I do have in my mind that I want a very tropical resort, kind of hotel like the ones I went to, and I have read very mixed reviews about the Marriott beach resorts (specifically in the Caribbean and Cost Rica).
Any suggestions would be great!
