Bear with me as I attempt to type this with one working eyeball...
I flew home to WV this past weekend (just a short, Fri-Sun trip) for my Bachelorette Party and Bridal Shower. I got into WV at 9 am on Friday, took a nap, then drove 3 hours north to my college town to party for the evening and had a great b-party....got to see friends that I hadn't seen in a while and one that I hadn't seen in 5 years!!
Anywho, got up early (and hungover) to drive the 3 hours back to my hometown where the bridal shower was taking place at 1pm. I'm getting ready at my sister's house, sitting on the couch doing my make up ten minutes before the shower was to start, when....HOLY CRAP - I STABBED MYSELF IN THE EYE...with my eyeliner pencil...my jagged, mis-sharpened eyeliner pencil. I screamed, ran to the bathroom and was in so much pain, I couldn't even open my eye. Luckily, it wasn't bleeding or anything, but I KNEW that I majorly effed up my eye, so my sister ran me to the emergency room.
I was 2 hours late to my own bridal shower, and felt like a total a** because I had relatives that drove 6 HOURS to be there to see me. I was in immense pain during the whole thing but stuck it out and still managed to have a great time. I went to bed later that evening hoping that it would be okay the next morning.
WRONGGGGG.
It was a million times worse. And my flight was leaving town at 3pm. I couldn't open my eyes AT ALL and had to have my mom walk me around the house. There was NO WAY I could navigate through airports all afternoon like that. So I called FI hysterical, crying my eye(s) out and had him change my flight. The next available flight was Tuesday, so I had to call a day off from work (no big deal). I ended up going to the eye doc on Monday and he put this super attractive (not) big white patch on my eye and told me to come back Tuesday morning before my flight and they would take it off and have another look...
Tuesday morning comes and I go back, they take it off...and he says..."Whoa, we're going to have to patch this again" ...FML. So, Its not REALLY a tradgedy...I was able to make it back home last night, took the bandage off this morning and it doesn't hurt anymore....however, my vision is completely jacked...its all blurry still. Hopefully that will heal with the drops I'm prescribed to use.
THANK GOD THAT THIS HAPPENED WHEN IT DID AND NOT THE DAY OF THE WEDDING...holy crap. And that wasn't the only thing that went terribly wrong over the weekend...but I'll save you time and leave all that out. lol.
Thanks for letting me vent.
I think I'll be okay now, haha.
