Sept./Oct. Cabo Honeymoon

My wedding is Friday, September 28, 2012. I want to go somewhere west because of hurricane season. We are thinking Cabo. Does anyone have advice, recommendations, tips (pro or con) on Cabo?

The West Coast also has a hurricane season that begins in mid May and ends at the end of November. While storms there seemingly occur less, there is always the possibility, especially during the fall. If I were you, I'd travel to where you really want to go, regardless of the season and purchase travel insurance in the case of a weather event.

I'm gettng married September 1st, our travel agent suggested Aruba. Apparently it is far enough south to be considered outside of the hurricane belt. Good luck with your search!

I agree with Jells, pick where you really want to go and just get trip insurance.  That being said, I went to Cabo for my HM and had a blast.  The main con to Cabo is that many of the beaches are unswimmable because of the rip currents, but if you get a hotel with an amazing pool like we did, I didn't even want to go in the ocean.

Just an FYI - We love Cabo. We got engaged there, and love to vacation there. We considered going back for our HM, but depending on when exactly you decide to go, September is HOT. Hot and HUMID. Very uncomfortable, unless it does not bother you. The weather is beautiful the end of November (spent Thanksgiving down there), but I'd research the weather a bit more or postpone if that is your dream destination. If you decide Cabo is your place, I strongly recommend the Fiesta Americana. It is a beautiful resort and relatively close to downtown. If you have enough time on your trip, I'd also suggest checking out San Jose (small historical town). The concierge can help you with bus/shuttle times to go there.
