Tahiti

Has anyone been to Tahiti?  Is it a good spot for a honeymoon?  We are looking into going to Tahiti for our honeymoon, but didn't know if there were a lot of activities to do there, or how expensive it would be once we arrived.  We are planning to be on our honeymoon for 2 weeks.  Any help or suggestions on anywhere else to go would be appreciated!

FI and I are looking into Tahiti! We have looked at Bora Bora. It looks beautiful for what I have researched so far. We have looked into the huts that are very secluded right on the water.

The prices so far have been pretty expensive, (flight, room, meals, etc.) But I dont know an exact amount because we are still researching.

I haven't been to Tahiti, but we did research French Polynesia before deciding on Fiji.  I think they say the general rule of thumb is to anticipate around $10K per week - obviously this will depend on a number of factors.

I priced out a package for about $10K for 6 nights in Papeete, Tahiti (1 night) and Bora Bora (5 nights). This includes breakfast and dinner, all flights and transfers, Sapphire OWB at the Intercontinental Thalasso (gorgeous). There is not much to do here other than water activities (i.e. shark excursions, jet skiing, parasailing), and well the obvious...lol! There is no nightlife whatsoever...even most restaurants close at 10pm. The Couples Retreat movie shows a lot of nightlife...this was not a true depiction of Bora Bora. HTH!
