Costa Rica in mid November?

I just saw a great deal on TravelZoo for an all inclusive beachfront bungalow for $169 per night between November 15-21.

Does anyone have any input on whether or not it's a good idea to travel there during that time?  Flights are only around $500/person, so we would be looking at around $2k which is right around what we'd like to spend on our honeymoon.

Re: Costa Rica in mid November?

  • Based on a couple of sites (Frommer'sLonely Planetgovisitcostarica), you'd be at the tail end of the rainy season and moving into dry season.

It's probably a very good deal then since it's the start of good weather but you'd be getting rainy season pricing.  You might get some rain, but I'd bet at least the southern half of the country on the Caribbean side is similar to a lot of the islands, in that you will only get periodic showers and then sun.

It's a gamble, but the price looks good if the deal is on the drier Caribbean side during November.
