All In, Intimate, Less commercial, 5star?

Okay so 5 star is not a must... but I was curious if you all know of any less commercial, all inclusive resorts? We want something for an anniversary that is just really lovely and classy but some of the resorts look like huge cruise ships on land where everything is all around you thrown in your face (including a large hotel building). Any more private or exotic, perhaps smaller scale options?

Ps. We did Italy for our honeymoon almost a year ago now and I visited this board a good bit during my planning phases of that. Many helpful ideas, so I thought to check again as you ladies can be very helpful! Thanks.

  • Hamanasi Resort in Hopkins, Belize. We went there for our honeymoon and it couldn't have been more amazing. Totally private (You can get your own private treehouse as your hotel room), low key, Adventure resort. Their packages don't include alcohol, but they include everything else including water and inland adventures. Check out the reviews on tripadvisor.com. They're pretty accurate.
  • or Zoetry in Riviera Maya or Royal Plantation in Jamaica.
  • I was looking into booking Jumby Bay for our honeymoon in Antigua which would fit your needs. I didn't end up with Antigua because the days it flies out of NY weren't suitable for our wedding.

A friend of mine had her honeymoon at Jade Island in St Lucia and I believe that is high end, all inclusive also. Good luck!
  • We did Hamanasi in Belize as well for our HM and LOVED it.  Not at all commercial.

  • From what you’ve described, I think Zoëtry Paraiso De La Bonita would be perfect for you. Zoëtry is a fabulous all-inclusive resort and with just 90 suites, it offers a very quiet and intimate atmosphere. Depending on what you prefer, you can spend your time lounging on the beautiful beach or partaking in various activities such as snorkeling, windsurfing and kayaking. The resort also features a freshwater and salt-water pool, with waiters available to cater to you at both. There’s definitely no need to move a muscle at this resort, and to me, that’s what makes it so enjoyable. Good luck with your decision!
