Honeymoon in August...I want beach, romance, and fun things to do! Suggestions?

I've been to a few places...Bahamas, Cancun, Ireland, Italy, Puerto Rico, St Maartin and Aruba. I love the idea of Bora Bora as far as romance, but think I would be bored after 3 days (it might be a little too secluded for me- unless I haven't done enough research). Any suggestions for a place similar to Aruba? It has everything I'm looking for but I want to try someplace new. And I don't want to worry about drinking the water, and I want GOOD food.

I know you said you've been to Cancun before but I would highly recommend El Dorado Royale in Riviera Maya (http://www.karismahotels.com/resort/el-dorado-royale-spa-resort-karisma) since you said you want good food.  They call themselves "gourmet inclusive" and I LOVED that most of the restaurants were sit down/order off a menu kind of places (as opposed to buffets).  Because it's more upscale, the water is filtered and safe.  It's relatively close so you can get there and start your trip right away!  Plus, it's close to Playa de Carmen, if you are interested in the nightlife, etc.

I hope you have the best trip!!
  • We're goingto Couples Tower Isle in Ocho Rios Jamaica, all inclusive with 5 restaurants, private beach, a spa and it includes excursions to go snorkeling, horse back riding and to dunns river falls as well as a glass bottom boat tour and a sunset catamaran cruise all included. With airfare, resort and transportation it is running us about $3300
  • You sound a lot like me!  I also thought I would want to go to Bora Bora but then I started researching it and was worried I might get bored after a few days.  It is a place I would love to spend a few days at en route to somewhere else though. =)

My fiance and I are getting married August 6, 2011.  We are spending two weeks in Greece. We are spending the first week of our trip alone in Santorini and then my 12 year old daughter from a previous marriage is joining us for the second week and our honeymoon will convert from a honeymoon to a family vacation.  We are flying back to Athens to meet her, we plan to spend a few days there to see the sights and will then island hop all the way to Crete.  My fiance is Greek (his grandfather emigrated from Greece to the US) and he still has family there and we plan to visit them while we are in Greece as well.

For me Greece is the best of both worlds.  We can have seclusion when we want it but there is still lots to see and do also.  We wanted a mix of down time and sightseeing for the honeymoon portion of our trip and then lots of sightseeing for the portion of the trip my daughter will be with us.
