Reception set up at ceremony?

We are having a backyard wedding at my FMIL's home. She has 80 acres so space isnt an issue. We are having approx 150 guests. We are renting chairs. But the rental companies charge $2 per chair to set up or move them on top of what it costs to rent them. So since we dont have an extra $900 in the budget to set up, move and take down chairs, or just rent 300 chairs, would it be tacky to have the tables set up and have the guests just sit at tables instead of in rows? We are having small centerpieces since it is taking place in a flower garden so those wouldnt be an issue with guests being able to see. But then I guess there woulnt really be an aisle to walk down... dilemma lol not sure! Suggestions? Am I just looking at the wrong rental companies or do they all charge ridiculous fees like this?
