Outdoor wedding how to hide bride, grand entrance

I am having an awful time trying to find a way to hide my daughter the bride, as guests are arriving.  She is being married at a private vineyard.  I would like to have her have a grand entrance, but need to hide her while guest arrive.  So 1, since there is nothing on site to do that any ideas, and 2, what grand ways can I have her arrive?  I checked horse and carriage, its $500 for one hour.  TOO much!

Any ideas appreaciate.

Re: Outdoor wedding how to hide bride, grand entrance

  • I would be creative with your space. In my case, I am having an outdoor wedding and we were just thinking inside the box, someone else came over and had the idea for me to come in from a different perspective and it will work out. Is there somewhere inside the yard where she could come out from and be comfortable?
  • Could you maybe set up a small tent for her?

I hid in a tent, and am so happy with how it turned out. We even got a cute picture with it afterwards:

It's just a tent we got at the flea market for $10, and sheets and curtains in our wedding colors for the sides.  I loved the eclectic look, but you could do matching sides if you wanted. The sign says "NO GROOMZ ALLOWED!"

ETA: I didn't care much about a grand entrance, but you could situate the tent so that it opens towards the aisle. When it's time for her to walk, the pretty curtains part and there she is.

It was a lot of fun to have some guests stop by and visit for a couple minutes as they arrived, and I got to hold hands with my groom for a little bit without seeing him.

  • I saw a cute picture on Pinterest where someone had set up old doors for the bride to enter through. Could you borrow a cool classic car from someone you know & arrive in it, maybe?

I think they plan on making doors but not sure how to have them slide...great idea!
  • I am having the same issue! I love the tent or old door idea. Our wedding is outside on beautiful grounds, we are having our ceremony off the beaten path in a lovely grove of trees. The problem is that the guests will be facing the beautiful grounds, so I would have to hide in the forest! I like the tent idea!
  • These are great ideas as I will be outside on the beach also!!
  • Unforunatley, a "grand entrance" is one of those things that lots of brides give up in order to have an outdoor wedding.

I had a building right next to our ceremony site, and was able to stand inside the building until it was time to walk out.  My cousin had he drive drive her up to her garden wedding in his roadster.

  • I love the idea of using the old doors for her making her entrance through. Could you have 2 of the ushers, if she is having them, open the doors up for her to then walk through. Similar to the way they might open church doors for the bridal entrance.

<div>I am also getting married at a private vineyard. There is a building for me to wait in, but furthermore, they have said that they will have two staff members with big black umbrellas walk with me, shielding me from the guests. I would never have thought about that but something about that seems really cute to me.</div>

  • I saw a bridal show on tv where they made a doorway our of some sort of pipes or curtains rods, and hanging from these big doorways were curtains that matched the wedding aqua, white, aqua, white, etc etc it was so cute and it blocked the bride and her father.
