Vegas Honeymoon Help

We're splitting our HM between San Diego and Vegas and would like some input on the Vegas part. I've never been there and want a hotel recommendation and if there's a reliable sorce for discounted Cirque tickets.

TIA!

  • We also stayed at Mandalay Bay and LOVED it!
You can get a lot of good package deals and things.... a quick google search should get you a lot of nice finds.

Being married is a real thriller! =)

  • For Vegas it definetly depends on what you are looking for. How much you want to spend + star rating! The only place I have stayed is the MGM Grand & I LOVED it!! Be aware that the free cirque tickets are promotions only, and they actually JUST finished that promotion (it was if you made the booking March-Mid April).

For hotels there are LOTS of options. If you're looking to stay on the strip they have everything from 2 - 5 star properties.
For Higher star ratings and newer hotel rooms, I'd suggest the Aria, the Vdara, the Wynn or Encore and THEhotel at Mandalay bay. For same star rating but older hotel rooms (not always renovated) there's Belaggio, Palazzo, Venetian and Caesar's Palace.
Four Star Properties would be MGM Grand, the Signature at MGM Grand, The Mirage, Mandalay Bay, Monte Carlo, Paris and Planet Hollywood.
Any other properties are going to be a lower star rating and not quite as nice.
If you are looking to stay off the strip, the only place to stay would be the Golden Nugget on Fremont. I would HIGHLY recommend staying there, I have not heard a bad review and will probably stay there on my next stay!

Also know that a few of the prperties charge Resort fees that can range anywhere from $9 - $25 per room per night. You can find that info anywhere online.

Sorry for rambling on, but I LOVE Vegas and really want to go back soon!!!
    Have fun!!

For a decently priced room that is clean and well appointed, we love the Gold Coast.  It is across the street from the Palms (walking distance) and also next door to the Rio.  Don't be fooled by the outside...which looks very western.  The rooms have a touch of Asian flair (not too much though) and are very nice....I believe we had a 'premium room' upgrade, which isn't much in $$.  We loved it.  I had a package for two including airfare (from Calif) and the hotel for four nights....came out to $550.00 for everything, including tax.  The Palms has amazing concerts, we have been there several times now and just love it...but don't see the need to pay for a room there.  It is 'off strip' but all of the other hotels on the strip have free parking, and if you want to get a taxi it's only a few bucks anyway, because it's so close to the strip (a little far to walk because of the freeway overpass, but not too much $$ for a cab at all).
