Need some advice

I need some advice, my MOH is my best friend and she is helping plan my wedding( I asked her to since she is very creative & crafty) anyways my colors are Brown/Champagne accent colors are Red and Fuchsia  so I wanted to use either Milk vases,Mason jars,(or both) I haven't decided what type of flowers I want ,so we were talking about the flowers the other day and she said that pastel colored flowers look best with the milk vases which I don't necessarily agree, does anyone know or have any pictures or ideas on what flowers we can use with our colors would look great in both vases.
I would really love to show her pics so that she can see my vision and I haven't been lucky to find any. Undecided  TIA!!

Hmmm, odds are that's HER preference and HER opinion. My mother is the same way. She loves pastel colors and thinks I'm a nut when I do things like buy a dark red couch or whatever. I think that the only thing that wouldn't work would be a certain type of flower. I feel like orchids would probably look weird in mason jars :) But roses or daisies or dahlias would look great. I found this pictures with mason jars http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_oZuFDni50Qs/SKZYCv881vI/AAAAAAAACx8/LkC2OOkMOg0/s400/9.jpg and this in a milk bottle (not sure if that's the same thing as a milk vase??) http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_5rh0WY4s8eE/SjXj4-M4HdI/AAAAAAAAD5E/cKiHEGS3d9g/s400/red+geranium+flower+puff+in+milk+bottle+vase.png and you could also do a combination of colors, like in this picture http://www.countryliving.com/cm/countryliving/images/cI/CLV0602WED_3-de.jpg Hope those help! If I'm not mistaken, milk vases are white, and a pop of color would look great against it. If these don't tickle your fancy, try making a simple mock up with fake flowers from the craft store. Besides, you don't have to "prove" to her that your idea is nice. It is. I got good inspiration looking at fake flowers to get an idea of what flowers I liked and wanted to use. You'll find something that perfectly fits what you want.

  • I agree with pp that the pastel flower suggestion is probably more about her taste in flowers than it is about what goes and doesn't go with milk vases.  It's a WHITE VASE.  There's very little that doesn't go with it imho ;)

Are you hiring a florist?  They'd be the best person for advice on which flowers to use according to your wedding colours.  But I second the idea that a bright coloured flower (like fuschia) would look great against the white.

    HTH!
