should the FI go or not go to the bridal shower?!?

my bestie had her FI go to her bridal shower, I've seen other guys go as well. Not the whole time, but they make an appearance at some point.

well I mentioned that to my FSIL which then tells my FBIL and he texts my FI saying that he's a queer and to reconsider. he told him that's like me going to his bachelor party n what not. he's never heard of that n all this crap.... umm.... a bridal shower is different than a bachelorette or bachelor party! n he's making fun of my sex and the city theme.

I'm having a good old Cuban "Despedida de Solteros" (Bridal Shower) so it's mixed women and men.

But I've done plenty of all women showers where the FI shows up at the very beginning, takes a few pics, they get introduced.. say a few words about them and then he dips.

I say do what makes you happy, forget everyone else!

thats totally something FBIL would say to my FI haha - do what you want, only that matters.

My FI should up towards the end to see some presents and then say hello to everyone, take pictures, EAT FOOD AND DRINK a bit...then helped load all the packages into his car and my car!!  so it was a give and take...he got free food and drinks....I got an extra hand and a car to load all the gifts!

My Fi is planning on attending at some small point of the shower and I'm really excited about it!

I have seen lots of FIs show up at some point to say hi or load up presents. I don't see anything wrong with it.  I say do what makes you happy

I'm not sure what we'll be doing. FI works on weekends so he may not be there at all. If he can, I'd probably ask him to stop by towards the end to help out.

My FI didn't want to go but his mom made him come halfway through & to help w/ gifts :-)

We had several guests who kept asking if it was a couples shower b/c they wanted to bring their guy, and one person who didn't come down to Orlando b/c it wasn't a couples shower & she didn't want to drive down alone. The only reason it wasn't a couples shower though was b/c FI hadn 't initially planned on going.

I think if your Fi comes halfway through or toward the end that's fine; you aren't marrying your FBIL (thank goodness!) ;-)

i had a mixed shower and most of FI's friends went and they actually had a good time (my MOH picked some entertaining games lol and made sure there were lots of treats: cupcakes, french macarons) but im cuban and my parents insisted that it had to be co-ed. anyways, its more common now. i think its silly for guys to be all uptight and think its gay to go to a shower. thats immature and to me shows that your not confident in your masculinity to be "seen" at a sex and the city themed shower.
the only thing we didnt do was open presents there. but it was a simple afternoon lunch with friends and family.
