My fiance and I are looking into going on a 7 day cruise for our honeymoon. We are very excited about the planning and whatnot. One thing we have debated is asking other couples to come with us.
I know most people right now are saying WHAAATTT??? I know a point of a honeymoon is to be romantic and travel somewhere with your new spouse and be alone. I KNOW THAT. I know about 5 couples in the last 3 years that have invited other couples on their honeymoon and they said they had a blast.
I'm asking opinions, because basically I've gotten a stonewall response to this when I've spoken to a few friends about it (one in particular actually). To make a long story short, my friend (bridesmaid) today embarrassed me by stating that my idea was horrible and how could my fiance and I invite other people along when it's supposed to be just about the two of us.
If other couples came along, it does not mean we have to spend the entire time with them--we do not have to eat every meal with them or go on the same excursions. My fiance and I just thought it would be nice to share this experience with others....especially because a cruise to the Caribbean will most likely be a once in a life time experience for my fiance and I.
What I'm asking is how bad is this idea? Like I stated, my friend really embarrassed me today. I guess I just wanted some opinions on this. Thanks :-)
