So Everybody's Venting Today...

... and so am I. Our engagement party is two weeks away, everyone knows about it, and today, EVERYBODY is coming out of the wood works... Oh, I just realized it's the same day as my birthday, oh, I just realized it's my anniversary, oh, I made plans to go to Vegas. If this is how they're acting now, I can imagine what I have waiting for me for the wedding. What the eff? Call me selfish, but this his is about FI & I!This is the second time since I got engaged that they piss me off to all hell. I totally want to scrap EVERYTHING, go to the courthouse, and call it a day.Sorry about the ranting, but I'm furious.

Awww, if they dont want to go or cant make it there, its their loss not yours.  Dont let them rain on your parade.  The people that are most important will be there.

The sad part is the people that are doing this... my MOH, one of FI's groomsmen, and a close cousion of mine. WTF???

Oh sorry to hear that.. If they can't be there for you and your fi.. Then tell them maybe they shouldn't be in wedding. Tell this is your wedding and one of the events they signed up for. Sorry sweetie.

This is only the beginning...trust me been there done that. Remember you'll never be able to accomodate around everyone's schedule...My aunt got mad at me that my bridal shower was during the time she was in the keys (mind you she had been in the keys for 3 months already) 1 saturday wouldn't have killed her to miss the keys. The same with my bachelorette party. Little by little you'll learn to forget about others & just think that it's about you & your FI. They'll be the ones to miss the party.

I can totally relate to you. Something very similar happened to me with my bridal shower. A bunch of people that I would have expected to go ended up making up excuses. It hurt me, but I got over it. I have learned you can't please everyone.I'm on the same boat as you: I wonder how it'll be once I send out my wedding invitations.

Hate to rain on your parade but if your ready to throw in the towel because everyone can't make it to your engagement party, I suggest you go to the courhouse now. Truth is it's your wedding and you're right its about you and your FI. It's also true that no one will care as much as you. The faster you learn that the quicker you can be happy doing your thing and planning your wedding. If people can't make it. They can't make it. Remember the less people at your wedding means less $$$ you have to pay. It's about you and your FI celebrating your love. Everyone else is just details.
