OMG!!! April 24, 2010 Girls!!!

So, I was trying to book hotel rooms for the weekend of April 24, 2010 and many of the hotels are saying no availability. I was wondering why there was availability the weekend before and after. Anyways, I called the hotel director at the Hampton Inn and she told me that it is the weekend of the Fort Lauderdale Air and Sea Show and they expect to sell out the entire hotel at normal rates. You girls who booked early are so lucky!!! FML, I wanted to have the ceremony at 3 pm outside on new river and now there are going to be loud airplanes flying over the entire time!!!! I can't believe it. My save-the-dates are order, there is no going back Plus, it was really the only weekend that worked for us! Just a little, FYI for my April 24, 2010 Girls!

where is your ceremony & reception??  you can probably book something a little farther west than fort lauderdale.  there is a bunch of hotels in plantation.  did you try hotelplanner.com??

Yeah, that's what I'm going to do. I'm just worried about the ceremony being outside now with the loud airplanes. How late do those shows go until.

OMG - I TOTALLY KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! I almost had a heart attack when I discovered this.... I'm hoping people book early but I can only beg so much (haha) - good luck!!!! xoxoxo

Although I am getting married on 4/23/2010, this is good to know. I was planning on doing a hotel block on the beach as some of my guests requested it. I had no idea that was the weekend of the air and sea show.

I am a 4.24.10 girl but my wedding is in Dade so I really havent come across any problems... On the positive side if the city choose that weekend for the air show then historically the weather that weekend should be nice... Perfect for outdoor events... GL to all the knotties coming across this issue, sorry I am not much help!
