Honeymoon help...back to the drawing board!

Hi girls!

Sooo...I posted a while back that we planned our honeymoon to Napa and Tahiti/Bora Bora. Well, that's still an option but since it's so expensive and will be a gift from FI's grandmother, she also gave us another option. We are trying to buy our first place and she knows we need the money so she suggested we go on a less-expensive vacation and she would give us the rest of what Tahiti costs towards the house.

I am VERY practical and like this idea even though Tahiti sounded amazing. So I am looking for suggestions of where else we can go for at least a week that will be relaxing and won't break the bank.

We don't want to go on a cruise (been on MANY together) and would like somewhere beachy/tropical weather. We've looked into places like Sandals Grande St. Lucian and Turtle Bay Resort in Oahu, Hawaii - I really like both bt am afraid of the water temp in Hawaii in Feb...Hope you girls can help!

TIA :)

I think that is awesome of FI's grandmother! And I would totally take her up on the offer.

I say St. Lucia... I went and stated at the Sandals La Toc resort and loved it... very tropical, yet different since its an island you wouldn't just go to randomly bc it is a little far away. It's also beautiful and there are plenty of excursions to take (we went ziplining).

I am also a huge fan of Jamaica... I just love everything about Jamaica and I have stayed at the Sandals Negril and the Sandals in Ocho Rios... loved them both and would go back in a heart beat!

In all honesty, the idea of Tahiti sounds amazing BUT it is just another beach... you can pretend to be in Tahiti while in St. Lucia.

Thanks girls and I totally agree Giannina, it's just a far beach and I was actually worried about the water temperature there anyway. I'm glad you liked te Sandals and I'm going to look into Jamaica too. Thanks!!!!

I have friends who just booked costa ricia and they said it was under 2000. Incliding airfair ect. Also the Bahamas would be nice and close. Dont go to Jamaica unless you plan to stay at a resort that you dont have to leave!
