Music for Ceremony/Cocktail Hour....HELLLPPPPP!!!!

I swear, it will be the death of me.  I cant make a decision.  At first we wanted to go with two separate musicians, one for the ceremony and a different one for the cocktail hour.  Then, I decided to save money and only go with a guitarist for both.  I was advised that in order for the guitarist to play with tracks (background music), it would be about $75 more.  I know $75 doesn't seem like a lot but it all adds up.  So, we decided to save the money and just do the guitarist w/o tracks BUT I was told the tracks make a huge difference.  Now, I feel like just saving a bunch a money and just going with the DJ for both the ceremony and cocktail hour and not worrying about it (plus if we went with the DJ, it would be one less person to have to tip).  We wont even be at our cocktail hour to enjoy it.  I'm just torn because I thought a live musician would be a lot nicer than just the DJ but I'm not sure if it's worth the live musician if he isn't playing with tracks and I dont want to spend the extra money just for background music.  Any and all opinions would be greatly appreciated.  What would you do??  I NEED to make a decision already and move on.  Yell

I think another Knottie had said before they did a guitarist and you couldn't really hear him at the cocktail hour so no one even noticed that he was there.  Maybe just stick with the DJ to save you money and headache :)

Id stick with the DJ...that is what I am going to do but I am going to have him play calm music...I think for the money, just go with one! GL

Just like pp said go with dj save the money and have him play some jazz music or something to that effect or the the same guitar sounds i'm sure you could find a cd with the kind of music you want and have him play that so that way you know exactly what is being played during that time. From past experience at event that have a cocktail hour when they have someone playing alot of times its like oh how nice and them it kinds of get lost because everyone is busy mingling around maybe its just me, it tend to be a social butter flies at time.
