Small vent...

Last night while watching the Bachelor with FI and FBIL, (I made them watch it, they were hating life lol)... I casually mention that next on my to do list is the video...

-queue blow up-

He doesn't see the point in it... and says he won't pay for it... and yada yada yada.... I felt like saying, JUST DO WHAT I SAY! lol

Granted, I do see a point in it but also see it as a splurge which is why its my last to do on the major vendor booking side BUT still... I want one :(

Lucky for him, based on the contacts I have made with videographers so far, they are all way over $1k so I may not even have it in my budget for one.

On that note, has anyone gone the film student route? or how would I go about doing something like this? Good or bad idea?

AHH Bachelor was CRAZY!! Sad bout their not-so-happily-ever-after though =/

Anyway, I understand why he's thinking it's not necessary but if you really want it you can try tellingl him that it's the only way you can re-live moments like your vows and first dance. They ARE expensive though, which is annoying! I've never thought of the film student idea, but I think it would be AWESOME!

You can try to contact UM or FIU  TV production depts. and see if they can help, maybe they know someone who does that. I also have a friend who does documentaries and indes so I can reach out to him and see if he knows of anyone. Let me know :)

Michelle, I will totally reach out to FIU and UM, and please ask your friend... I wonder how much they would charge me... maybe they can double dip it with some homework lol

Try Art Institute of Miami or Fort Lauderdale- my son is a film student there. UM might not have many film students- I believe they dissolved the film program recently- but I could be wrong.
My daughter used Chris Kennedy for her video footage- a recent AI grad and friend of my son. www.filmkennedy.com. he may be less expensive since he is just starting out. I don't have anything to show you since Chris shot the raw footage and my son is editing it himself.

Not sure how exepensive this would be, but maybe you can have a friend record the important parts and have a film company edit the video?

How many hours are you looking for? I've seen a few vendors under $1k if you don't need to many hours covered.

Thank Joann... I will def keep him in mind, saved his info :)

Nina, I thought of that but I don't really have any friends that can do that... and I'd be scared that they wouldn't know where to stand and may get in the way of my photographer taking pictures?

Jdanger, I am not sure, my original time wanted looks unrealistic lol... who have you found for 1k? maybe I can make it work?

    Thanks girls!
