Newbie intro... Hi!

I know its not Newbie Monday, but rules are meant to be broken, right?  I've admittedly been watching the board for a few days now before felt comfortable posting.  I've been engaged for around a year now, but my fi and I are just now starting the planning.  We both wanted to settle into our new jobs first after graduating.  Now we've picked a date, but that's about it.  So much to do!!!

We're running into some issues though as an interfaith (Jewish/Catholic) couple. Surprisingly enough, our families are fine with it.  We're just having problems finding officiants and a ceremony location that has everything we want.  Has anyone else had interfaith related problems? Any advice for more issues to expect down the road? We already talked about and agreed on how to raise kids, but I'm sure there are plenty of other road bumps out there that we haven't anticipated.

Well, that's it for now. Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself, soo... hi!

Welcome!  I don't know if I have any useful advice, but I was raised in an interfaith family.  My dad is Jewish and my mom is Catholic.  We were raised mostly following my father's religion, but they let us decide later on what we wanted to do.  I am now marrying a Catholic, but both of us aren't very religious.  We are going with a non denominational ceremony with small hints of both religions.  A friend that is a notary is marrying us.  I have heard that some Cantors/Rabbis will marry interfaith couples.  I also know someone that had 2 officiants, one for each religion working together.  Good luck!

Hi! Welcome & congrats on the engagement. Your story is like me and my fiance .. we were engaged for a little over a year as we were moving and then settling into new jobs before we started planning. He's Jewish and I'm Catholic. Well, I guess that's only two simialities, oh well, lol.
Anyways, we are having an officiant (a Reverand) who performs interfaith and non-denominational weddings. We aren't very religious and our parents are probably a little bit more religious than we are, but they don't really care that we're not being religous at the wedding so it worked out. It really depends on how much religious influence you want to see at your wedding. There are plenty of these officiants who do the mixed religion marriages so I don't think you have much to worry about there.

Good luck with planning & tell us your date

Congrats and welcome to the board!

I went to an interfaith wedding a year or two ago, and it was held in a Catholic church with a priest and a rabbi both doing the ceremony.  It worked out very well, and all the guests enjoyed it.
