First day checking out venues - Kind of long...

So today was the first day that my mom, FI, and I went to look at 3 venue locations for our ceremony & reception (I want them at the same place). We went and looked at Jacaranda Country Club, Fort Lauderdale Country Club, and Hillcrest Country Club.
JCC - I was a little nervous about coming here because I've heard such bad reviews about the catering manager, Darlene. She wasn't too bad, I mean I dont want to be BFF's with the woman but she was nice enough to deal with and showed us everything we wanted to see, even the outdoor gazebo. Overall, this place was the best of the day. She really let us know that there are many options for us here. However, our date isnt available..
FTLCC and HCC - both were ok. We weren't too crazy about either. Can you believe that the guy at FTLCC wanted to charge us $1600 to take out the chairs for the reception (they were ugly) so i could rent different ones. I laughed at the guy's face.
Anyways - I just wanted to let you guys know that even though I was a little nervous yesterday about checking out the venues they werent too bad. All in all, it was a productive day. Tomorrow we're checking out the Bonnet House so hopefully the weather is just as beautiful as it was today! Everyone have a good saturday night!!

Glad you feel better today after seeing them. Good luck tomorrow. And that is crazy to charge 1600 to take out chairs! I'll come and move them for you! lol

Whoa $1600 to move chairs? Some venues have no shame. Like PP said, I will come and help move them for you! lol

We liked Fort Lauderdale CC and weren't fans of the catering manager either! We met with Mike (I'm pretty sure his name) at Jacaranda and he seemed helpful. I liked jacaranda too. Hillcrest is on the list to look at. What did you like/not about it?

I didnt like the ceremony area at Hillcrest but inside was nice for the reception. I liked the chairs there but my FI said it was a little dated for his taste. Plus our guest list is around 80-100 and I feel like the grand ballroom at hillcrest was really big for our party.
The catering manager at FTCC was weird. I mean he just didnt give off a good vibe. Hope this helps lol!
