Mom's dress question..

So my mom is planning on wearing a long dress. I was going to let my bridesmaids vote long or short. but will it look like the mom's are overdressed if the bm wear short?  Am I just being weird and overthinking this?

No it won't look weird.  No one will even care or think about it except you. :)  My Moms wore long dresses and my girls had tea length, all was okay.

Plus it would be expected that the moms would be a little more dressy.

Not a silly question! Both of the moms wore long dresses and my girls wore knee-length dresses.

I have my girls in short dresses and my mom was like I dont want to be the only one wearing a gown. I was like I am wearing one!! She doesn't want to be too "formal" and I said no one will notice and she is the mom she can wear whatever. She just ordered 4 dresses from Nordstrom lol. She is having a panic attack over finding something

Laura- My mom bought 3 dresses before I ever bought mine! I think as of yesterday she is not even planning on wearing any of those 3 lol. She is def obsessed with what to wear, how her hair will be, her makeup. its a bit overwhelming for me

My daughter's bridesmaids wore knee length dresses, I wore a long gown because I wanted to! My mom also wore a long dress. Krista, I am like your mom, I was obsessed with finding the perfect dress. I searched the knot's MOB dresses, looked at a few bridal salons in PA and found the perfect dress shop where I wanted to buy my dress. I tried some on alone and fell in love with the one I ended up buying. Before I bought it I wanted my daughter to see it. Ashley flew home and my sister also came with us. We had so much fun! I knew it was "the one". I couldn't stop thinking about it. LOL.
I didn't feel out of place at all in a long gown. I was worried about being out of place too- but I didn't feel like that at all. Tell your mom to get what she loves!

I'm glad I'm not the only one dealing with an obsessed mom!

Thanks Djoan! (sorry I just saw your reply!) I can't tell my mom what to wear because she doesn't ask lol. But I'm glad the bridesmaids can get the shorter (less expensive) dresses if they want.
