NWR: Any recs for a good DLSR camera?

Good morning girls! Hope everyone is having a nice Saturday morning :)

Bryan and I are now on the hunt for a great DSLR camera for our honeymoon, since we want to get great pics of our safari.  Anyone have any recommendations?  Right now, I'm looking at the ones that costco has, the Nikon D3100 and Canon Rebel T1i, but I'm literally just starting to look, so I'm open to any ideas :)

Thanks so much!

FI got me the nikon d3000 last christmas - i loooove it. he actually used it when he proposed :) he got it from costco and it was a good deal. FI dad just got a canon this christmas, which is also really nice but i love my nikon. i think in the end they all pretty much do the same thing. i think it's helpful to look at the pictures each camera produce and see what you like. hope this helps!

I got a Canon rebel T1i and i love it! I had an older canon rebel and wanted a new one that would be an easy transition. Its really easy to use and it takes awesome pictures!

I love my Rebel - though I haven't really been allowed to shop around, because once you get interchangeable lenses, you really can't switch, and I got my first (film) Rebel when I was 16. I can say though that even for my small point-and-shoot, I've stuck with Canons due to their good customer service. After dropping a Canon point-and-shoot while climbing on some rocks, it broke. I sent it in because it was still under warranty. They sent me a fixed camera back with a note saying that the camera had clearly been dropped (which it had), but that they fixed it for free as a courtesy. After that experience, I will always shop Canon. I drop things a lot! I need nice warranty people!
