The Rusty Pelican has a few affordable options. You can do a cocktail reception at night or a brunch reception during the day and both are more budget friendly than a full dinner reception. A little different, but worth checking out. :)

You could check out my venue. Hillsboro Club www.hillsboroclub.org It is a private members only club. The whole club is on a private ocean overlooking the lighthouse. It shows the cost on the website.

Beachcomber Resort & Villas on Fort Lauderdale Beach seems reasonable but I didn't get into the details once I found out it was all outside.

Beachwatch on Dania Beach is on the pier. Its a restaurant but they give you the whole thing and your right on the water.

I have been trying to get a hold of Ocean Manor FOREVER and they never call back but right next door is Ocean Sky. I have an appointment there tomorrow.

Ericamay mentioned Sun Dream Yachts they seem really good and are having an open house with tasting March 1. I've been to a wedding on the yacht Anticipation and it was really nice.

Not sure if it is too far north for you, but my venue is Out of the Blue Restaurant in Jupiter.  It's part of a marina on the intracoastal in a private, gated community.  They will shut down the entire restaurant for your event, and their price per person includes tax, service charge and cake cutting fee.  And the food is awesome!

Try my venue! It's on the intercoastal so we r having outdoor ceremony/cocktail hour and indoor reception. It's called the lighthouse point yacht club. The coordinators name is gina and shes amazing. Its def not too expensive and there is so much included!! (even ur cake and a chocolate fountain!) its also very private, you'll be the only ppl there unlike at a hotel. I love the initimate feel! U can check out the website lpyrc.com and they are also hosting a bridal show on march 13! Erica and i are going! That would b a great time for u to check it out! Good luck!!

@mfields 83: does LPYC have an area for outdoor reception as well? We'd really love to have everything outdoors and it would be a great venue since the indoor reception would be plan b for a rainy day :)

depending on the size of your wedding, you could probably do the reception on the patio that i'm using for my cocktail hour.  how many ppl are you having?  i'm having 120-130 so that many would not fit.

if you're looking for an outdoor reception space - the pelican grande has a really pretty spot overlooking the ocean!  we looked there, but again it was too small for our number of guests.  i think their max was 100.  HTH!!  ;)

ok, yea we are probably going to have about 200. So we are having trouble finding a spot. We are just at the beginning, slightly frustrated though! I know we'll find something eventually :)
