In serious need of Dance Lessons

Maybe this is hard to believe, but FI and I formally danced for the first time last night at a Bar Mitzvah party. Now I've already known that FI isn't very musical, he doesn't like to dance, and doesn't have good rhythm. So they played Frank Sinatra's The Way You Look Tonight, a great song! But FI and I were all over the place! We would dance in sync for 5 seconds, then he was off. I got frustrated and said, "Let's just sit down." I could tell he felt bad. On our way home he says, "Let's get dance lessons for our first dance." I told him that we should pick our first dance song (we haven't picked it out yet) and then just practice. But he insists.

Can anyone recommend someone or someplace where we could get dance lessons in the Fort Lauderdale area?

    a work associate highly recommended Arthur Murray. we have yet to attend but i think we're going to this event on thursday (which happens to also be the day of my hair/makup trial haha). it's the grand opening of their new location.

    Kirsten-I can completely understand you! FI and I practice in the kitchen about once a week. I have been suggesting dance lessons, but we don't know where to go.

    Aww I think it's sweet that he wants to take lessons :) I only know places in Miami, sorry. Maybe check on Yelp.com

    Thanks for asking about this!  FI is actually the better dancer and I have 2 left feet so we will definitely be taking dance lessons!

    I know you said Ft. Lauderdale area, but if you don't find anything you like, here in Aventura there is a place called Aventura Dance (aventuradance.com) I used to go there and loved it, they moved to a bigger studio and they have a lot of classes as well as private lessons.

    i highly recc caruso danceport if your in the palm beach area, they ceographed our 1st dance!! and we were so pleased!!!
