oh no Reina....

=(

I know I  might be banned from here now if I say anything bad about Reina. But I am a lil' dissapointed. Maybe this is how things work.

I went to Reina's today to have my final fitting and take my dress with me. I ran late as usual so I call around 4:50 to make sure they don't close since I was right around the corner. Her partner thought I had changed the date to tomorrow. I didn't get suspicious about this til recently. I go ahead and try on the dress. They created the bustle, but NO HEMMING!!! I lift my dress and see all the pins and needles. I wondered if it was suppose to be like that? And she said no (duh) that they didn't want to just cut. But she placed those pins last Friday and I tried it on, walked around and everything was fine. What was the point of today, to see if the bustle was good? OMG I was too tired and sad that I couldn't take my dress with me to get mad. But when I called FI he was mad and started getting mad thinking about the long drive home. 4 hours driving to and fro and nothing was done! I'm not mad, just dissapointed. I have such little time left so every minute is crucial. Maybe this is how it works?

i didn't use reina, so i can't speak about her. but what i do know is that seamstresses do underestimate the time it takes to do certain work sometimes. but they definitely should have been honest with you when you called. you may have been disappointed anyway, but at least you would have saved yourself the drive.

what i can tell you, on a positive note, is that all the girls here use reina and love her. and while it might be annoying and stressful tonight, when you pick up your dress tomorrow or whenever it is you're returning, you'll be SO SO happy (considering how much knotties rave about reina and assuming your dress is in good hands) that you won't even care!!!

good luck and i hope that my words at least made you feel a bit less distressed =)

I'm sure the end result will be beautiful! At least you have the comfort of knowing that she isn't rushing the alterations so the work will be impeccable!

I'm not stressed or mad. I know the dress is in good hands. The only thing that annoys me is the drive because it is so time consuming, traffic is frustrating and now the price of gas. They have done such a great job, and have acheived what to me seemed like the impossible. I honestly can't afford to make that drive again without crashing because of exhaustion. I've dozed off for a split seconds on the wheel. So I am having my cousin pick up the dress, she lives closer. I'm hoping everything will be good by then.

Ok.. she did the same thing to me. Over 3 appointments, she hadn't hemmed my dress and I was confused why. But she got it all done by the time I needed it done. She actually works very quickly and I'm sure if you had a morning appointment, she would've had it finished within a few hours so you could've taken it that day. I remember coming in for my appointments and usually the girls were picking up their dresses that day and she had asked them to go for lunch and it would be finished by the time they got back.

It sucks all the time you wasted driving but hopefully it's worth it in the end! Her work is impeccable!

I hate to say this... but she did the same to me. My dress was NOT hemmed correctly when I picked it up. It was hemmed SOME, but not to where it was supposed to have been hemmed when I wore my shoes for her for a half hour...

I was not very happy with the finished product... Sorry to say. :(
