So far I've met with three and can't say I found someone I like. To be honest, when we started planning the wedding we decided to spend the majority of the budget on the venue and DJ. Now were light on a "strict" floral budget and are having a hard time finding anyone to work with us. 1. dalsimer- venues preferred vendor. I had emailed him to let him know of our budget, he insisted that I come in to meet him before he gave us an idea of prices. He hardly listened to what my "vision" was. In fact, he had took us on a tour picked out flowers he thought would work and steered the whole conversation. When I was finally able to get a word in edge-wise about wanting "tree like centerpieces with Candels hanging" he brushed it off and continued on. I felt intimidated by this "used car salesman" approach. Finally he went to crunch numbers and the total was $3000, which is double our budget. On his follow up phone call I asked if we could change ANYTHING to get the priced down.. he responded by insisting Ilook around for other florist because no one can offer the type of work he does, and that he finds it helps him when brides see other florist because they realize he is the best. I was dumbstruck that he cannot grasp that I'm NOT trying to cut on quality. I'm just not able to spend $3000! I really just want to save other girls that are on a tight budget some time. I wish he told me from the beginning that he couldn't work in my budget...
