How did you ask?

I wanted to get some cute ideas of how to ask my friends to be a part of the wedding party.

Now some of them already know but I was thinking of getting everyone together & officially asking them but in a really cute/unique way. I really want to make special. Any ideas?

I did it individually. I had my sister come over for dinner and I asked her if she'd be my maid of honor and told her why I would love her to be a part of it. But if you have a big group maybe host a little get together at your place and annouce how you would love them to be a part of your wedding.

I was boring. I asked them in person one by one. But i have seen girls here bake cookies in the shape of dresses and ask and also cards are popular as well.

I was boring and just asked my bridesmaids in person or on the phone. My friend just asked me by sending a cookie in the shape of a bridesmaid with a poem on it. Very cute!!!

I baked and decorated cookies. Got a wedding cookie cutter set. I put them in cute tin containers with a card saying "will you be my bridesmaid?" and mailed them. They all loved them!!

I was pretty boring, but that's because I wanted to do it right away.  When my fi proposed, all the girls I wanted were there with me.  I pulled them all aside one at a time and asked them that same weekend.  I told them all how honored I would be if they would stand beside me as my MOH/BM.  One of them has since gotten engaged and sent out headbands in the mail with a poem talking about friendship and asking if we would "head" down the aisle with her.  I though that was cute and unique.

I will be hosting a Bridesmaid Brunch at my moms house. I plan on decorating it very cute with balloons and different decorations on the plates. My color scheme for the ceremony is eggplant purple and sage so I will use those colors to decorate. I also plan on having a cute gift at each table setting.

For the invitation to the party, I plan on sending them each a real invitation with a nice note inside (personalized) asking them "for real" to be my bridesmaid and why it means the world to me to have them there with me that day. THey already know, which is why I say "for real".

Oh and the day of the brunch I will also make an appointment so we can caravan to see dresses :)

I made bridesmaid dress cookies, put them in boxes and gave them to the girls at my engagement party.

Thank you all for your input! I really like the cookie idea. It's super cute. I researed online & found some cute poems I may use. I also saw on partycity.com that they have engagement ring keychains. I'm going to check them out in person. I thought it might be a cute way of asking. Kinda like a proposal. If I don't like the rings too much then I will do the bridemaid cookie. I love that idea.

    Thank you!! Smile

I found this really cute DIY project online. You can personalize each girl to look like your bridesmaid and its super simple and cheap. I'm going to send them all the cards so they get them in the mail.

enjoy. I think asking my girlies to be in my wedding is gonna be one of my fave parts ;)

Ok, I've got it all planned.

My MOH (she doesn't know yet. lol) works for carnival. I asked her to set up a ship visit. So next month we will all go & get on board the Carnival Glory to hang out & eat & chat before the ship leaves. I love this because you have all the benefits of cruise without leaving the port. Awesome!

Well, I'm going to do a DIY Card in the same colors & theme of the wedding with a cute poem asking the question & use the cute Engagment Ring Favors as a gift for them. Kinda like a proposal. :)

I think they will really enjoy it. Once I do the cards I'll upload pics for all to see. I can't wait!
