I want to leave the vendor private for the time being because they so far said they are willing to refund our money.  (AND SO MANY PEOPLE ARE RECOMMENDING THEM ... so it may be just me)

Ok, when I chose my coordinator I was told they would help us negotiate and find a venue.  Now annoyed none of this has happened, my mom was told this was not something they are supposed to do for me but out of the kindness of their heart they have gone above and beyond their call of duty to help me find a venue. 
STRIKE ONE!!

Then they are supposed to work within my budget and they send me a quote for a package for 7K* over!! This does not include the price of the venue, or little things like invites, my dress, the church, transportation, ALCOHOL etc.  so in total over 12K over my budget!!

*OK, so maybe 7K over my budget may be the cheapest I can do my wedding so I ask them to itemize the package to see what I am getting for that price and if it is worth going that route.  "SORRY WE CANNOT ITEMIZE" ... So how do I know you are giving me the best price? And what if I don't like your vendors?  I need to trust them in that I am getting the best price, and if I don't like ANY of their vendors then I get less of a discount.

FINALLY what has me fuming mad and annoyed is they tell my mom that the reason they came over budget was because they thought I was lying about my budget and I was holding back.    And repeat to my mom that we are holding back and we can spend more on my wedding.   HOW RUDE IS THAT?  And I did not know I had to lie to the people who were supposed to help me plan my wedding within my BUDGET!! 

AAAHHH!!!  EEEEKKK!!! All other exclamations of my being upset!!

Sorry you are going through this. TheKnot is a place to vent good or bad. Sometimes vendors are not what we think and its great to let other brides know about YOUR experience. Hopefully you can find a better planner. I know of a few if you need recs

You shouldn't have to put up with this.  Sounds like they're trying to take over your wedding... it's your day, you know your budget, and you should be allowed to see exactly where every penny goes.  There are many other good planners/coordinators out there.

Wow, I'm so sorry you are going through this with a vendor.

It's your wedding and budget, not theirs. It's so rude of them to not to try to plan something beautiful and perfect that fits your budget and then to let you see the costs of each item. It's almost like you could do better on your own getting lower deals if they are not willing to tell you the prices and they seem high. They should be there to guide you, help you as needed. I'm so so happy that they are giving you your money back, and that you find someone who can really help you or find great deals on your own that you never even imagined! GL!

I would definitely turn them into the BBB if they do not follow thru on the offer to give your money back.

I'm sorry you are going through all of that! I would be livid if I asked someone to break down what I'm spending on everything and they said no. That just screams "I'm hiding something" to me

Oh no.. I know who you are talking about.. (I think) you should def go somewhere else especially if they are telling you that you were holding out on your budget! Thats crazy. I would go somewhere else, there are a ton of other coordinators.

whoa! WOW!! geez! 3 strikes and they're out!! There are a TON of other planners out there who will work with the budget you tell them!

oh no sorry this is happening..i agree if they can not show you what you are paying for then chances are you are being taxed ...you can probably get better deals on your own... GL!
