Gel Nail question, I am so clueless....

So I spent yesterday deciding between gel vs. acrylic, and then when I went to make the appointment they asked me if I wanted pink and whites or regular gels, I didn't really know the difference. What is the difference? What should I get?

Pink and whites are like a permanent french manicure with a pink base rather than white. Regular gels are just tips and you can always change the color. 

Gel is better than acrylic for your nail.

i have gel nails with the white tip already.

honestly i think its better and its cheaper when u get it refill.

it looks prettier than when u do the french

I've had them all, and hands down I would recommend the pink and white gels. Even if you decide you don't want the pink and white, def. get the gels. They don't cause the damage that acrylics do to your real nails.

Thank you everyone! Yea from what I found yesterday I decided on gels, then they confused me with the pink and white or not question.... I am getting them tomorrow, I just figured I am going to need them for the wedding my nails are so short, so it makes sense to just do it now for the holidays and engagement pictures and keep it up for 4 months.

Glad you asked this question b/c I'm totally confused.

I don't wnat acryllics b/c I hear they are horrible for your nails... but how about Gel? Will that also be an issue???

I would love to do something for my wedding b/c my regular nails are short and icky but maybe I'll just stick with what I've got I don't know.

I'm clueless about Nails Jen so I have no info or help sorry.

Jaime: Go with the gel. They are gentle on your nails. Acrylics are horrible for your nails. The gels are a little more price - wise, but worth it. They also look nicer, and come off easily.

I think I am getting them tomorrow, I will let you know how it goes. From what I read online and from everyone on here gels are the way to go, and it is worth it to go to a more expensive salon. Also, according to what I read online (I guess it is correct), some of the less expensive salons say they are giving you gel, but really put acrylic powder with gel over it, so you want to stay away from that it should be just gel they put on there no powder.

I found conflicting info about when you take them off, some things said your nails will be the same as they were before, but I think even with gels they will be weaker than they were before, but it is worse with acrylic.
