Chemical Peel?? I dont want to end up like Samantha....

from sex and the city..... Someone recommended i do this before the wedding. I dont have the best skin and ive never had a facial or anything done to my face. i am prone to acne so i was told a chemical peel will make me look great for the wedding.. has anyone had one done? i googled it and a pic from sex and the city (samantha) popped up and it scared the bejesus out of me.

There are different types of chemical peels... glycolic peel is the mildest form. I've had a ton of glycolics and my face didn't look like that. However, if you go with a stronger peel, you WILL get a much better result!

BTW, I don't think a glycolic peel make enough of a difference. And for the stronger peels, it usually takes 6-8 weeks to fully heal.. and you don't have enough time.

I've had tons of facials and peels since I too am prone to acne, and they def. do work. However, I wouldn't do a peel this close to the wedding, since you don't know how your skin will react. Like PP said, try a facial and do it no later than a week before the wedding. GL!

im glad you asked this... im actually doing a spa thing this month with my bff and im doing a facial so im glad it will be ok I was worried and now i know no peels! LOL

If you have NEVER done a facial before I would def not do any kind of peel and would not even do a facial with extractions because you have no idea how your skin will react. The only thing I would do is an Oxygen or Hydrating facial ... I've read a couple articles that recommend those before your wedding.
