Starting Cake Vendor Hunting/Tasting Process Any Recs?

Hello Lovlies,

It's about that time... I need to start researching Cake Vendors in the Palm Beach Gardens area or further north, please let me know.

We are thinking of doing a small 1-2 tier cake and a sheet cake in the kitchen for the majority of the guests.

Any advice I should keep in mind???

Thanks bunches!!! TGIF!!!

Always keep in mind Publix...they have amazing cakes and are reasonably priced. GL

Yea, Publix is my backup/most likely to be used... but this is one wedding experience I'm not skimping on. :) I'm going to test out a minimum of 3 vendors before choosing!

FI is very excitied about this part, so is my MOH because she is buying our cake as a gift and I told her she can come to the tastings!

I tried some of her cake at a bridal show once and it was pretty good. She has locations in Stuart and Wellington.

I loved We Take The Cake.  I even had my shower cake/cupcakes made by them.  I def recommend a tasting there!

Obviously I don't need this much cake... but maybe just the 3 tiers? I like the blue stripes and whip cream frosting... the simple seashells and starfish and the flowers. it's nice with out being overbearing.

I like the topper on this one and of course, the PINK starfish I LOVE!

Again, I really like the toppers... but I LOVE this idea of using gramb cracker crumbs to look like sand on the table! Maybe she can make a Pink Starfish for the girl starfish topper! lol

We're using Sugar Chef which is located in Delray.  It was the only one we tasted but neither FI or me are big cake eaters and we thought everything we tried was beyond delicious!

While I am using the Fort Lauderdale based company: We Take the Cake, I would definetely tell you to make the trip down there to taste their cakes.

A friend of mine (Jade Cyr) works at A Piece of Cake...they have locations in Stuart and Wellington.  She works out of the Stuart one...try them

I used Mighty Fine Cakes and they are fabulous for non-traditional cakes.  They are in Miami but they deliver.
