RSVP Deadline (mini vent)

My RSVP deadline was yesterday. Had 35 unresponded guests, hunted down a few people but still need to confirm with 17 more people.  Why can't they just mail the RSVP on time. I have a stamp on the envelope so there is no excuse!

The RSVP process sucks. I'm sorry!

remember the post from a few days ago, that the USPS can take a LONG time getting the cards back to you. I believe that post had them taking several weeks just from palm beach to broward.  Don't assume the guest hasn't sent the cards, but also dont assume they have.

If I were you, I'd mark off the guests that have replied, and then follow up via phone with all of the ones that haven't - maybe something like:

"I recently found out that the post office here is taking a ridiculous amount of time returning the RSVP cards to local brides - but we do need to have our headcount finalized for the catering compnay, so, since I haven't received your card yet and assume the post office is taking their sweet time bringing it to me, are you a yay or a nay?"

That way you find out without accusing someone of shirking their guestly RSVP duties, you throw the blame on the USPS and yet you'll still get your answer.

Sorry :-( I am going to start calling people on Tuesday to get their response. Then by Friday I'm going to start making my list for the escort cards. If these people don't get with it, I'm putting them down as no. Hang in there honey! The RSVP process will be over soon.

Gabby we are going through the same thing as you.   I feel like I wasted return stamps since 1/4 of my guest do  not know how to put the envelope in the mail.

The RSVP process is the worst part of wedding planning. And I'm sorry, there is no way the Post Office is taking weeks to deliver an RSVP card, especially when it's local. I had my overseas invites delivered and RSVPs sent back to me within a week.

Hang in there Gaby, you're almost at the finish line.
