Venues out of my price range

Should I still go see these venues even though they might be over budget? My mom insist that we still go look but I am going to hate myself if I fall in love with a place that we can't afford... gruh!!!!

Some places may be able to work with you but if it is totally over budget I wouldn't go. It's like trying on the way over budget dress, of course you will fall in love with it.

I agree with the girls... if it's over budget, it's almost a gaurantee you will fall in love with it. I'm guilty with my dress.
On the otherhand, sometimes you may find it worth it. Budgets are a lot about prioritizing whats important to you. You may fall in love with one of those venues but then for example, decide that its so beautiful that you don't have to spend as much on flowers ... so some of your budget gets shifted and it could work out.
Its a tough decision.

To me, it depends on how much out of your budget.

For me, I gave myself a rough per-plate maximum and then basically refused to look at anywhere that was a lot over that.  For example, I know I would the Breakers, but it's not happening with my guestlist (and we can't cut down).

But if it's an amount where you budgeted less but you could shift things around to make it work, that's another story.

I agree with everyone. All the places I looked at were over my total budget, but I just didn't like anything that was IN my budget. The hotel I fell in love with wound up being it for us so we wound up cutting the budget for all other vendors.

It might be worth looking because they may work with you on price when you start talking budget with them...I wouldn't go to one that was insanely out of your budget range, but a little bit over could still be a possibility!

It depends on how much it is over your budget, but you should definitely try and see if they will work with you.  There are a lot of venues that can customize a package, and there are also a lot of venues that won't budge, so know that going in.  My venue originally sent me a package for $40-45PP over my budget.  We went, told them our budget, and they got it to what we needed it to be.  Good luck!
