Since yesterday's post was so popular, and who doesn't love reminiscing and getting all warm thinking about their FI?


1.  When did you know your FI was the one for you?  Was there a particular "Aha!" moment?

1.i knew from our first date that he was the one for me..it was so awesome how we just got along so well and he invited me to a wedding for a friend of his a few months down the line and i knew i had him LOL but  I think for me what sealed the deal was more the reaction of all my family and friends...everyone has instantly loved him and i am big on family and friends so that was a huge deal to me!

2. He proposed in the car driving me home one day (no ring) but he proposed again by taking me to Kay's Jeweler at the mall and when we got there he picked up the ring and proposed..supper embarrassing! LOL

1) I knew he was the one two weeks in. We spent almost every night together from the time we met till now. We were just talking and looking at each other and something happend inside of me that said, this is the man for me. Something about the way my skin felt when he touched me and the way I felt when he kisssed me for the first time that I knew this was the last first kiss I would ever get.

2) he proposed to me literally a week after we officially became a couple, and barely a month of knowing each other (sounds crazy) but we already knew this was it. There was no ring or getting down on one knee... at that time. 6 months later on our official "6 month anniversary" we went back to the place where we said I love you to each other for the first time, on the beach on Naples, and he got down on one knee and asked me to be his forever with the most beautiful ring i have ever seen.

1.  When did you know your FI was the one for you?  Was there a particular "Aha!" moment?
It was on a plane together to New York for a wedding for one of my family members.  This was 4 months into us dating....we were sitting together (his first time to NY mind you) and instead of me going over what he wants to see in NY, he was studying my father's family tree and making sure he gets everyone's name right and the stories that go along with each person!  haha.  That's when I realized I was in love with him....and told me so just as we were landing. 

2.  How did FI propose?
My FI proposed in August 2009 while we were vacationing in the Bahamas...he got down on bended knee in the hotel lobby in front of 200+ people!  (more of the story is in my bio)

1.  When did you know your FI was the one for you?  Was there a particular "Aha!" moment?

The day i met him, not particularly did i think to myself "he's the one" but i felt something super weird!!!!! after we got together and fell in love, i realized that feeling i had was the "he's the one" feeling. Since i had never felt that before i didnt know thats what it was.

2.  How did FI propose?

No proposal...no ring either lol. we just talked about marriage since day one of us being an official couple. and then we just decided on a wedding date and started the planning. he asked if i wanted a proposal and i told him no. weve been living together so long and everyday he tells me how much he loves me that i didnt find it necessary.... now i kinda want one lol.

we are going ring shopping friday (its my bday) and i am sooo excited!!!!

oh and the reason he didnt buy me a ring behind my back is bc FI has the WORSE taste EVER!!!!! and he knows he wouldnt be able to pick out something i LOVE. lol He knows me sooo well

Oops, I forgot to answer my questions! LOL!

1.  Before I can answer this question, I have to backtrack and share two things...My family, in addition to being emotionally draining, are mentally taxing as well.  Secondly, my germophobic tendencies mandate that I cannot use any bathtub but my own without first scrubbing it down. 

From the time we started dating, one of FI's goals was to get me to relax (between work, school, and my family, I was always operating in a constant state of chaos).  One of the things he'd do was clean his roommate's bathtub (he only has a shower stall in the master bath), light candles, and fill it with bubble bath so I could just soak and relax.  About 3-4 months after we started dating, while I was soaking in the tub, it occurred to me:  He worked just as many hours as I did today, but his priority when he comes home is my comfort, not his.  Anybody who cares for you that much is in it for the long haul.

So then I called him into the bathroom and said, "We're gonna end up getting married, aren't we?" to which he replied "I think so."

2.  Our first date was at Morikami Gardens, and their annual Bon Festival is mid-August.  I had a feeling something was up because he was acting super sketchy and almost demanding that we go this year, lol.  A week prior, he had emailed my parents and a bunch of friends with where to be and what time to be there.  Long story short, nobody was there at the assigned time, and we kept stumbling onto our friends in random spots throughout the gardens.  Poor guy was freaking out because the surprise element was getting ruined!  It happened at an impromptu spot once my parents literally stumbled onto us while running to where they still thought they needed to be.  He took the ring from a friend who had been holding it all day and said, 'It's time to make an honest woman out of you...will you marry me?"  I shot back, "If you never say that again, yes!"

We're not typical romantics, lol.

1.  When did you know your FI was the one for you?  Was there a particular "Aha!" moment?
I knew that he was the one for me when I broke down and told him to not play gmes. My mom was battling cancer and we knew it was very grave. I was so sad and driving back and forth to Fort Myers and flying to Houston to help my mom with whatever she needed. One day I just broke and said please dont play games I dont think I could handle it. It was a month after we met. He told me that he would be there forever and would always dry my tears. I had lost alot of "friends" because they didnt know how to deal or what to say to me. It meant alot that he was like that.

2.  How did FI propose? 
Fi came home from the baseball field on May 16, 2009 and said he wanted to take a nap. I said ok. When we went to lay down, he was giggling like a little girl telling me there was something in the room for me. I was like Ok its my bedroom everything in here is mine. I got up, found the ring box in the closet and when I went to open it, he walked around the bed took it and got down on 1 knee and started laughing saying Will you marry me?

1- We met 8 years ago and he was living home in delaware and i was living here in miami at home, going to college, We had the long distance going on for about 2 years...pretending it was casual....but knowing deep down inside that we were falling in love with each other. ONe day he told me He had always wondered what it would feel like to meet his "wife, the person he would spend the rest of his life with" And then he said that he now knew how it felt because he had met me and he was going to marry me some day. 

2- We went on a 2 week vacation thru Italy and Paris last year...on the first day of the trip we were in Rome and sitting on the Spanish Steps (which are breathtaking!) ANd he whipped out the little black box and proposed. I was COMPLETELY surprised and the ring was beautiful and perfect (and it fit perfectly too!).

1. Soon after we met and were still just friends, I came by his house and he was outside, playing with his 3 year old niece ... I had this melt-your-heart moment and thought to myself: that's the kind of guy I want to be the father of my kids. Never really had another "Aha" moment so I think I just always knew he'd be the one.

2. He proposed Christmas Eve of 08 - completely unexpected! He bought me a silver picture frame that you record a message on and when I unwrapped the present I suddenly got a panicked feeling and put the box down without opening it. He kept bugging me to open, I kept saying no and finally when I was alone in another room he came in with his gift and told me to open it again. I did, and as I was playing the recorded message of him asking me to marry him, he was getting down on his knee, taking out the ring

My mother rode with us and he offered to take my mother home on his way to his apartment. We had only been dating a little while. I knew right then that I was in love and he was the one.  2.  How did FI propose?  We had dinner reservations at Melting Pot for our 6 month anniversary. We had been talking about marriage the day before. When he came to pick me up he was early. He said to me "We may as well make this official". Then without a ring he dropped to one knee and proposed in my livingroom before we left for the restaurant.
