Things to do in Fort Lauderdale

Hi, we'll be flying in to FLL in early November; and we have a full day to explore FLL.  We're interested in dinner recommendations, shopping areas, sightseeing, etc.  We're not interested in driving to MIA, just want to stay in the FLL area.  Any must-see and must-do's?  TIA!

The Galleria mall is nice and the beach area as well. I love to sit at a restaurant on the beach and have dinner or breakfast or just a drink and watch the waves. Las Olas is a favorite of mine too.

You can go to las olas and they have a water taxi that goes to different spots in Ft. Lauderdale.  Its pretty cute, more fun than driving!  You can take it from las olas to beach place where there are some bars/ dinning options.  There is a Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. just south of Beach place and I really like the place.

Shopping- like someone mentioned there is the Galleria Mall and if you don't mind driving out west a little bit there is Sawgrass Mills Mall.

There is the Museum of Discovery and Science. They have an IMAX theater.  http://www.mods.org/home.htm
