Paying for BM makeup???

So, I just assumed that I would have to pay for my BM's makeup and hair but my co-workers said that most people don't expect that. They said just send out an email with the prices to the BM and if they want it done they can pay themselves and if not then they can do their own hair and makeup.  What are your thoughts? And if I have to pay what is the average price for each girl for hair and makeup?

Thanks!!

I asked my BM's if they wanted their makeup done, I think only 2 may get it done. I did what your co worker said. I had a trial and I sent out an email with the prices asking if they want to use her. I am not paying for it. I think average price for makeup is about $75?

If you're not requiring them to have their hair and make-up professionally done, then you don't have to pay for it. But if it is a requirement of yours, then yes.

I sent out the email and asked who was interested in getting it done. I used make up by Claudia and it was $40 pp.

my MOH sent an email with pricing and letting my BMs and closest ladies in my life know that I would love for them to spend my big day with me and get ready with me. It listed prices for hair and makeup. Luckily, they ALL said yes! And I even had some of my my mom's friends and my husband's family ask if I could help them with hair and makeup artists. While I agree that it's their choice, it never hurts to let them know how special it would be for them to spend the day with you and get ready there with you, too.

I personally am paying for my BM's to get their hair and make up done. I have two BM's & the two mom's I'm paying for to have their hair and make up done. My MUA is charging me $150 per BM and $125 per mom.

I'm not paying for them...I would love to but I am struggling with the budget as it is! I just got pricing (luckily I found some great deals for them) and let them decide what they wanted to do. All are doing hair, but a few opted to do their own makeup which is fine with me. I don't think most BM's expect it to be paid for unless you require them to have it done.

In my circle of friends we are "expected" to get our make up done professionally as well as our hair. I put it in qoutes bc I know that someone wouldn't get mad or bothered if one of us couldn't afford it BUT we all have never NOT done it. get me?

I won't be paying for the hair or make up and have provided the girls with the make up price ($60), and am looking for someone to do hair at about $40 so it doesn't pass the $100 mark all together.

I too asked my bm to pay for their hair and makeup.  I also gave them an option of doing their own make-up.  How much are you tip are you giving the hair and make-up ladies?

I was going to pay for their makeup, but I simply can't afford it. It was going to be a nice treat, but now I have to tell her I can't.

I'm paying for everyone's makeup but having them pay for their hair and tips for the makeup artist and hair stylist.

I didn't pay for them. I told them I would find someone fabulous and afforable if they wanted to get their hair and makeup done professionally. 1 girl refused to pay anything and the other 2 just paid for their makeup and did their own hair.

Thanks for the info ladies! I have 7 BM's so paying for all would be very costly.  I will take you recs and just make it optional!

Yep, PP's are right - if you don't require it, they can pay. If you do require it, then you should pay. Sounds like you've made a decision!

I am paying for their make-up but not their hair do. All of them is required to wear make up and i have 1 stylist that is going to do my whole bridal party hair.
