How many months before your wedding did you send out your save the dates?

I sent mine at 9 months. You can send them from 7-12 months. It depends on if you have a lot of out of town guests. If you do and its closer to a holiday, I would send it out as early as possible

Oh wow, I should get a move on then!  Originally we were thinking of getting our engagement pics done in May and use one of those pics for the save the dates.  If I need to send out save the dates in June/July, is that enough time to create the save the dates with including an engagement pic on it?

I think that is plenty of time if you get your engagement shots done in May. I did my pictures last night and I am hoping to have my save the dates out by the end of the month. Even if I have to rush my photographer I can just have him pick the best 3 pictures and I can select the final one. My STD's will be going out probably around 8 months out

I did 9 months, but you'll still be fine if you get them out a little later
