Almost check! and Video question

Hi girls,

Ok so my updates this week... I think I found my DJ! We met with Mike from Event Factor yesterday (he used to work with the DJ Connection and now ventured off on his own) and it clicked ... I knew him from before so now I just have to make sure of my decision and send in my deposit.

My question on video... I have a lot of friends in the wedding industry, and therefore everything else had an idea of what I wanted or where to look. Now on video I have no clue... I did my search on your recs and narrowed down the style I like and names of companies but what is normal to charge? and how much coverage do I need if I want them to film me/FI getting ready and all that jazz? A ball park of what you girls are being charged and what you are getting for the cost would also help me out here. Is it possible to find this for $1k?

p.s. there are so many weddings going on lately and upcoming in the next few weeks that all the checks and PIP are awesome and I am jealous (but in a good way)! lol

Congrats on the almost check.  Video prices range depending on the company.  Most mentioned on TK are around $2-$3k.  I am paying less than half of that.  My package includes 5-6 hours of coverage, including our first look, ceremony and some of the reception.  Edited trailer and video. It was too expensive for most of the getting ready time, so we are going to fake it for the video.  My photographer is going to be there for 8-9 hours and will cover it.

Hey girl congrats on the progress! I won my video package with free mind studios and getting at Keats 8 hours coverage but I know their packages start at $3000 if I remember correctly. HTH

I looked at the pricing for Reinhardt and decided they are one of the vendors I will be contacting... how has your experience been so far?

Michelle, do they have various people or did you now forget my wedding date? lol... I just put two and two together and figured out who you are... I was all over that contest bc my friend Bibi and Susy were in it. Just put a face to your name lol

oh and my photographers will be with me for up to 12 hours so maybe I can also fake the getting ready part... would they be coming in for the last hour or so of you getting ready to fake it?

I refused to spend more than $1K on video and it was hard to find! I went with MXI Studios. Kenny worked with me on price and length of filming. For cost reasons, we aren't having video of us getting ready but my photog will be with me for that so I am not to concerned.

I am going with MXI for the same cost as PP.  Reinhardt is the same price from what I remember.  I just liked MXI's style more.

I think I'm spending around 3k for 7 hours with blueshore. He will be shooting us getting ready he just will leave before the party is over. He mentioned that there are only so many shots we would want of everyone dancing at the end of the night and the photographer will be there late

Giannina, how funny! Ya that contest was intense lol! And nope I didn't forget, but I'm pretty sure they have two guys, either way just so you would know the hours included. I've heard great things about Captivated Films too...my friends used them un november and I love their video. If I hadn't won it I would probably used them. I would definitely call them (Melissa is super nice) HTH!!
