Thinking about a beach wedding at a hotel/resort on the beach in lauderdale by the sea... thoughts?

I really need your help!  It's either going to be in Central Park or here.  Anyone ever consider the sunny beach or chilly NY in March?  What did you end up choosing?  How expensive is a beach wedding in FL?  How difficult is it to pull offf?

Thanks so much!!!

It really all depends on where you go and your expectations. Most hotels on the beach have a facilities fee, catering fee, alcohol fee, and then your looking side items traditional to a wedding.

A lot of hotel packages on the beach I looked at averaged out to be $10 -20k give or take for the venue alone.

I don't know anything really aboout NY wedding costs.

  • there arent many, if any at all, in lauderdale by the sea. i would suggest going a little north to either pompano or deerfield beach or a little south to ft lauderdale beach ... and cost-wise, i would suggest going towards pompano and deerfield. one place i am looking into (actaully my top pick as of right now) is the Deerfield Beach Resort by Wyndham. food-wise, their prices are less than ft lauderdale beach (ive yet to find one under $100 a plate in ft lauderdale for a dinner ... this one has dinner no more than $119 a plate, which i believe was their fish plate). if you would like more info (a lot of the costs are included in the fee) PM me and i can get that to you. The catering manager there is marybeth...ive yet to meet with her in person, but ive had plenty of email conversations (ok - questions) with her and shes quick to respond and has been super helpful with my millions of questions.

another suggestion -- royal fiesta caterers is pretty inexpensive also. but they're on the intracoastal, not the beach. but you could always have a beach ceremony and then the reception at royal fiesta.

also, if your guest list is small -- 50 and under -- theres a restaurant on the beach in lauderdale by the sea that has great food and a private beach. its called SeaWatch. i used to go there at least once a week when i worked up that way. i have information from there too as well. we were considering there, and it was our main choice before we found the deerfield beach resort and also our guest list is too big now!

  • There are some gorgeous places in sunny isles beach that have everything for you with recommended vendors thT they often work with and honestly I think sunny isles is one of the prettiest beaches on the southern east coast of Florida. As for ny where in the park are you thinking of doing it? Any place in particular? March can be so crazy this year there have been amazing days but I remember a massive snowstorm in April when I was in college so make sure you have a backup plan. Obviously Florida can rain, but I think that's easier to handle with a tent than you know 20 degrees. Also NYC weddings are on average more expensive. When I was deciding between two states I did some research and just saw such a difference in the averages that was one factor in my decision to hey married in Florida. Central park is honestly one of my favorite places, but so is the beach at home in Florida! I don't think you can really go wrong either way!

  • March in NY sounds chilly! I'd do the beach!

There are plenty of hotels and all inclusives that would fit your needs and make for a really gorgeous day!

You could also consider renting a yacht like 2 of our girls did a couple of months ago. Their weddings were GORGEOUS and surprisingly affordable. :) If you want the girls' contact info, let me know!
