I need opinions on a Miami bachlorette party

Hi South Florida Knotties!

I live in Atlanta and I am usually on the ATL board but I have a question about Memorial Day weekend in Miami.

We (me and my 12-15 white girlfriends) had been planning to have my Bachlorette Party in Miami on Memorial Day weekend. Tonight one of my bridesmaids calls me ranting and raving about how one of my other bridesmaids says we shouldn't go because that is "Black Beach Week."

We are trying to figure out how big of a deal this is.... do white people still go out in South Beach on that weekend? Are there sections that have Beach Week parties and other sections that are just a normal Miami scene? As long as there is a mix of people I'm fine with it-- but will we feel totally uncomfortable and be the only white people?


Also, I just want to let you all know that I mean no offense to ANYONE, I just want to rock out and have fun at my bachlorette party.... but at the same time not tread on anyone else's territory!

It's a hip-hop event and it's all sorts of concerts and parties in South Beach. It's not exclusive to only Afro-American anyone can attend.

It's not exactly a racial thing, but if going to exclusively hip hop parties with a hip hop crowd isn't you thing you should avoid the beach.

The Keys are really fun that weekend I hear.
