Beach Ceremony Question

Ok so the last post on shoes got me thinking of an issue I'd been mulling over recently in regards to shoes for our beach ceremony.  I have a greek-style dress that's very beachy and really makes more sense for me to be barefoot, esp since its on the beach.

My FI and the GMs are renting black Calvin Klein tuxes. We were originally thinking of having them be more casual but FI opted to go the tux route. So my issue is if they're wearing tuxes, it would probably look weird to have them be barefoot for the ceremony, right? And if that's the case and they wear dress shoes... do I need to wear shoes?  And if I wear shoes/sandals, then I guess the BMs will need to too, right?

Ugh this is so annoying, I don't know if I'm over-thinking it or if it really will look odd.

what if the guys wore something casual for shoes, like these

and then it wouldn't look so out of place for you and/or your girls to be barefoot?

I don't see why everyone can't be barefoot.

Do whatever you want :) That's my advice! Try not to worry too much about what's going to look weird or out of place.

I personally think it's going to be hard to wear dress shoes on the beach. They boys are going to get sand in their shoes....but they can always shake them out.

Do whatever you want, love. No one will see your feet anyway :)

We're also having a beach wedding and all the girls and guys are going barefoot, including me and FI who will be wearing a khaki suit. I'm having a "Shoe Valet" sign as people walk into the ceremony so that guests can take off their shoes, too, if they want.

    HTH!!

i agree with pps. do what you want.  i do not think it would look weird at all.  i've seen some beach weddings with flipflops, some with bare feet, and some with shoes. they've all looked nice.

I agree with PP. No matter what everyone is wearing clothing wise, I still think they can all go barefoot. Do whatever YOU want.

BTW, Sara: I love the shoe valet idea :)
