Okay so I’m going to work this morning and I plug my phone up to charge. When I did this I noticed that I had a missed call. The call was restricted so I couldn’t find out who called at 6:34 am. But my first thought was my mom or sister. When they call from the house phone it always comes up restricted. Plus at 6:34 in the morning I thought it was them too – especially since our daughter has been sick and is with them this week. So I call the house my sister answers (still sleep) says she didn’t call. She asks my mom and my mom said no she didn’t call. Okay I let them go.
Anyway about 5 more minutes pass and my phone rings at 7:06 am – I look – it says restricted. Okay I answer – the person on the other end asks to speak to “Dawn.” Okay I notice right off the bat that this person (woman) is really really soft spoken – and honestly I think it is my MOH. I go along with it and I say this is Dawn. She then goes to say “I have noticed your cell phone number come up in my husband’s phone and I wanted to know how long this has been going on for?” EXCUSE ME!!!!! Okay I start laughing because I seriously think this is my MOH trying to play a joke on me. I’m thinking that okay Kelvin and I have been married for 4 days and this is a joke – I don’t know but I just did. But the woman is really really quite – like she is waiting for an answer. Again I think this is a joke so I ask in a playful way “okay what is your husband’s name and where does he work?” She remains quite and she tells me he works on a shipping yard – but she doesn’t mention his name. When she spoke her voice sounded even softer and like she was really really nervous and scared. I started to realize – Oh SNAP this lady is serious – this isn’t a joke!
I then stop laughing and playing around and I tell her I don’t know anyone who works on a shipping yard and that the good news is “it isn’t me!”
She said okay and then hung up. I never got the name of her husband, nor how my number was in his phone. I tried to ask her if my number came up once or a few times or could it have been a missed call – she didn’t answer. So I don’t know if this is “someone” who was calling me or someone I was calling – because honestly these last few months with wedding planning I have been calling all kinds of people – but now I feel horrible.
I’m telling you it was weird – she obviously has some doubts and is doing her investigation – I just wish I wasn’t laughing so much in the beginning.
