Venue Help

So, I'm looking for a specific kind of venue. Maybe some former brides or some well into planning brides can help. For the ceremony I'm looking at Squire's Castle, if any one has any info on weddings there. If not, I'm looking for something for somewhere outside. Maybe a big park? Somewhere that feels romantic and not too backyard-wedding.
For the reception I am looking for somewhere that I can find my own caterer and bring my own cake. I don't care if it's indoor or outdoor, but it is really hard to find somewhere that isn't charging an arm, a leg, and my first born. We're on a tight budget, so I was hoping some other budget-minded ladies had some ideas?

It sounds like you're looking for an east side venue? Check out Orchard Hills banquet center (I think that's the name) at Patterson's fruit farm. IIRC, you can bring your own caterer, etc. in.

For our reception, we have to use the hall's caterer, but they're amazing and more affordable than any other place my fiance and I looked.  It's La Casa Bella Party Center in Oakwood Village.  The food is excellent and you can bring your own cake.  Our cake is by Cakes by Christina.  She's letting us do a different flavor cake/filling for each tier plus kitchen cakes and is also extremely affordable.  PM me if you want the specifics.

I'm getting married at Squires Castle (as long as the weather holds).  It's free and very easy.  The park service issues two hour permits to prevent 2 parties showing up at the same time. Contact:

She was very helpful she just needs some info then she'll mail you your permit!

I still haven't found a rain venue though, if you come with anything let me know!

For your reception...  Highland Heights has a very nice community center, but you have to know a resident to book it for you.  You bring your own everything, except tables and chairs.  It's only like $575 to rent it for 10 hours.   Willoughby Hills also has a commmunity center that they'll rent to non-residents.

Thanks ladies! I didn't know if Squires was free, but since it is, thats what we'll probably do. My FH's grandma makes cakes professionally, so thats why it's important for us to be able to bring one in.
@Kenderson, how much was La Casa Bella, and how long do you get it for?

La Casa Bella has 2 different prices, for 1 entree with vegetables, potato, salad, rolls and a pasta is $26.95/pp...and it includes tax AND gratuity in that price.  If you went with the 2 entree option with the same other things, I think it's $32/pp.  Bar pkg is 12.95/pp over 21, 3.75 under 21.  We're on a really tight budget, so we went with the 1 entree option, but the food is absolutely incredible!  The bar package includes bartenders, mid shelf liquor and 2 kinds of beer, plus wine.  They also have a beer and wine package for 8.75/pp.  There's all kinds of other extras too, that I can tell you about if you want to know.  But really, Rita and Carol have been awesome to work with!!

Hmmm... thats still a lot :(. We're having 100 people, but we have a small budget. 6000. I mean, if thats the last thing we need, then I'll look in to them. Thank you!!

Your welcome!! :)  Yeah, it's unfortunate that weddings have to be so expensive!  It's the cheapest that I found without sacrificing quality.  Kind of nice that they include the tax and gratuity in the price so that's not an extra expense too.  Good luck with your planning though!!
