FI's RSVP idea

So FI and I were talking about how it is oh so hard to check a box and send back a pre-addressed, pre-stamped RSVP and he came up with this gem: "You know, if I was oozing money, I would have sent all the envelopes certified return receipt and put a note in the invitation "A non-response constitutes as a decline; so if you show up without responding, please bring your own food and a chair." I like his idea, haha.

That's awesome. My FI's great idea was if the wedding couple doesn't have kids, then it should be a no kids wedding by default. I like that one too. I think we should listen to the FI's ideas!!

I love that idea too. I am so annoyed right now about this very situation! Our final rsvp date is this Monday and we have only about half of our responses. I hope I'll be getting a ton in the mail over the next few days, but somehow I think I'll have to track a lot of people down. The best part is, I have to have a list to our calligrapher with everyones names and table numbers 4 days after our rsvp due date to make sure she has enough time to finish all our escort cards and get them to us in time. Fun, fun, fun!

Haha! That's much more creative then my FI's "if they miss the deadline then they aren't coming so no need to call them rule". Our deadline was Saturday, still missing 12 rsvps.

Bella.Vita - Oh no! I hope that you don't have to make too many phone calls and that you get everyone's response in time! You'll have to recruit some family members to help you out :)

"if they miss the deadline then they aren't coming so no need to call them rule".THIS!I am so good about RSVPs, even on Facebook and Evites. I have a friend (who we are actually going to ask to be in our wedding, as he introduced us) and he NEVER checks the "yes" box on those online RSVPs, but he'll call and ask if I'm going and if we should go together and whatnot. I'm all, "dude, ARE you going?" I'm just going to assume he'll be at my wedding. ;-)This is one of the many reasons I'm planning a small wedding!

Awesome! We actually did have one person who didn't RSVP at all and then she showed up with a date which wasn't even invited. My fiance said...well, I'm glad your here but good luck finding seats and food. haha luckily, we had 2 people flake out on us.
