anyone doing PURPLE (not lavender) wedding?

What did you do for flowers and decore?  Its hard b/c not a lot of purple flowers, and not a lot of stuff online.I am going with a royal/grape purple, rather than an eggplant, because I am combining it with black.

My wedding was purple, but it was mostly eggplant. Here's a close-up of my bouquet: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2642/3812347591_c1d8cd8223_o.jpg . Good luck finding what you need!

Our palette includes purple, but its not that exclusively since we also had to have dark red and lavender.  We went with purple uplighting for our reception venue.  Reason being is if the lighting isn't right, it doesn't matter how much money you spend on the decor it just won't look good, and since we're paying pretty penny for photography and videography we wanted to do everything possible to ensure those came out well.I am debating purple table cloths with a lavendar overlays along with purple shashes.  But the venue is already including ivory colored linens and chair covers, and will provide napkins in any color I choose..  I already have gold chargers.  I am debating weather the table linens are purple over kill since the ivory will reflect the purple lighting anyway.  And that's like a couple of hundred dollars I can put elsewhere. As far as flowers are going, I am going whitish/pink cymbidium orchids for my bouquet, and miniature cymbidiums for the bm's bouquets and groomsmen bouts. We're not going for purple flowers, or at least not all purple flowers.  I am thinking complimentary colors, like hot pink, freedom(a dark red), and black magic(super dark red) roses, fushia denoribums, and a purple filler(lilac if we're doing good on the budget, statice if not so good).   I know that one way of giving a wedding a polished look is to make it all monochromatic.  But honestly, I don't want my FI to end up hating the color after the wedding, so I am trying to balance out the purple and make it pop with other complimentary and contrasting colors.

I have the same colors as you. :) I am doing all shades of purple. I am using purple anemone, tulips, calla lillies, hydrangea, and probably orchids.

I normally post on the Boston board - but I lurk here because I live in LA.  Our wedding was a vibrant purple and black with splashes of yellow and red.  For flowers we stuck to dendrobium orchids - loved them!  PIB.

I'm doing more of an eggplant/plum color but the flowers are going to be white with a soft soft blush/muave to soften up the look.  I've seen pictures of orange with purple.  Not sure what you think about that.Hope this helps =]
